basically someone who isnt trying to cause violence, and is generally a good person, but the solutions they choose are extremely violent

a good example is devil ma-kun from ocha nigosu he doesnt pick fights randomly, and for the most part only attacks out of self defense. yet he gets a horrible reputation because of his instinctively violent reactions.... aka beating people to a pulp instantly, and exploding a guys bike cuz he destroyed something another person considered precious.

basically a good guy that happens to cause excessive bloodshed xD

Durarara (novel and anime are best).

The example you gave reminds me very much of Kongou Banchou's first chapter. I can't remember if he has anything against violence, but he's definitely a good person.

Dragon Ball - Goku (along with many other characters) is extremely strong and often ends up wrecking things by accident. The manga is much better than the anime.

Eclipse Hunter (Novel) - appears to be a weak kid, but has a split personality that's very violent and ruthless.

Midori no Hibi - gets dragged into fights a lot.

for some reason i never thought of beelzebub as being like this, but it's actually a pretty much perfect fit o.0. dude isnt exactly nice, but he is an overall good person that just happens to plant peoples heads into cement 😐 . already reading it, but ty for the rec, it works rather well as a reference for what im looking for

Campione! (novel) (there is also a manga) fits very well. Kusanagi consider himself a pacifist, but he got the extreme bad reputation of being a destroyer of historical places (and a playboy, but you didn't ask for this) even if try his best to avoid destruction.
