I only recently started reading Fairy Tail (started a maybe 50+ chapters ago before the s-rank arc), but i'm really excited about [spoiler]the time skip at the end of this chapter[spoiler] i've really gotten into the characters and am looking forward to seeing the changes that will be shown

Yeah, I was really surprised... Like, "Really ? this hit can actually happen ?" Well I suppose they were only something like teleported, but well... I don't know what's going to happen anymore 🙂 Not that I ever knew now that I think about it ^^

The mangaka already elaborated on all the Fairy Tail members & the existing magic guilds, so it's not like he had much material left. The only thing that was left were these super strong entities (Zeref & the dragons). A timeskip would be able to give new material to write about and an opportunity to make Fairy Tail stronger.

I honestly have to say that I did not expect this chapter to end like this, especially with a time skip (and its the third time I have seen this occur, but that's another story).

A bit curious about how Hiro Mashima will continue the story, especially with the introduction of the mysterious character at the end.

Of course he did not just kill off the entire crew, and I never get the feeling that anything in Fairy Tail has been planned more than a month ahead, but Shounen's getting less predictable, they don't always win anymore...

Everyone is trying to keep up with Oda Eichiro. His success might have changed what manga editors will let their slaves get away with though..
hehe, even in bleach the art style had changed so much that it may as well have been longer, after the timeskip a lot of characters looked like different people (eg. badkittygrl4567's avatar).
7 years all the men will have massive beards and all the women will have boobs 3 times the size of their heads instead of 2 x...

It's true that 7 seven years is waay too much... But Claymore had a 7 years time skip as well and it wasn't all that weird (well... probably because they don't age xD). It's a long time, true. But it's also more than enough time to change a lot of things in the magical world.

The group will have survived thanks to that mysterious woman(?)/girl(?) we see for half of page 10 x.x
