I think the uke's family was cursed or something like that and only the uke and his son are still alive. They were protected by the seme who can turn into cat(in which later revealed to the uke). In the cat form, the seme is the family's cat and presumably died after protected the uke. The seme has a scar over his left? eye. Like the second story of the manga, about a god and also a teacher? to the seme in first story.
