It's almost through scanlating [vol 37 of 40], but I heard there's a sequel. So I was wondering how the story ended...

Did it end open-ended, with a cliffhanger? Or was the ending at least satisfying?

I'm very curious. I think it's a great series, a little slow at times but still great.

i didn't read 3x3 Eyes nor 3x3 Eyes Gaiden: Yggdrasil no Yadorigi, but series called gaiden usually take place in the past ie they're more of a prequel than a sequel

I hope that's the case, because I would really hate it if the story was to be continued after 40 volumes already.

Actually yeah, you are right. Think about it...Ninja Gaiden...that's a prequel to the NES ninja gaiden...wait...nevermind...but i think you're right. This was one of the best mangas ever created...up there with berserk. Many years to finish though, but i am thankful to those that participated in it.

Im not going to tell ya where... but Sanzan eyes the guys translating the manga... have a link with a sipnosys of the vols... the whole stuff and there u can see it does end. ... i havent been there in ages as i stoped downloading it till the whole stuff is complete. but u should go.
