I didn't see a topic like this, so I thought I'd ask. Here's the deal:

The Air Gear anime really interested me, and I would like to read up to at least the point where Ikki has to battle for the top of the tower. However, I've read enough in the forums to know that Air Gear continues well past that point and has no focus or foreseeable end point any longer. (It jumps the shark well before the 'Obama' scene, from what I've read; that was just the last straw for most people.)

I don't really want to read past the original tower storyline. So, how far into the story is that (chapters or volumes)? An estimate is OK.

Is there anything REALLY worth reading after that? If so, how far after? (No spoilers please, just generic idea of what to look for. Thanks!)

Starts at Vol 1 Chapter 01
Ends at Vol 12 Chapter 104

Practicaly every manga that has been made into an anime has this information.

I am aware that such information is available. What I've seen of the anime does not stop at the point of the top of the tower battle, which is why I asked the question.

From everything I can find on the internet, that is the only season of the anime that exists, so it's not that there are additional seasons which I haven't seen. So, my question is still unanswered as best I can tell.

There is no battle for the tower, unless it's happened very recently.

Also, said tower is nothing like it was imagined earlier in the series, so...

I mean really, things kinda went in a different direction all together...

I was hoping Oh Great might have stuck through that storyline before moving on, but perhaps not. If that's the case, that's really a shame. I despise manga that's drawn out just for the sake of drawing it out, with no purpose and nowhere to go/end. It's just rather pointless then.

i would say don't read it period. it doesn't seem like there will be any progress or end to the original storyline, its just drifting further away.

Dont read it, its a waste of time. Just watch the anime, its not too shabby, imho 🙂
