im not fan of read online
but i see alot in these site members who say reading online from mangafox
and other sites like that harm the scaners :-(

i dont know but i was thinking mangafox and the other sites are one of the best things happen to manga scaning ever!

and let me say i talk from experinse

in old day we (arab manga fan) have hard time scaning and upload manga onlin by arabic
do you know how hard to make website upload rar files and how mach it cost for strong bandwith
site is "to mach"

most arabic scaner work as one man team so it hard to do all that

but after same website like mangafox for arabic scan start it becom easy to just scan and upload there.

and what about taps reader like ipod sites like that do it easly

i think these sites do good more thin harm.

In the very beginning I thought so too. But then again, the majority of the content is in English, which has the largest fanbase, so that is the centre of the issue. I can not say for other languages, especially ones that have a small community.

On another note, how effective is ad blocking online reader sites? I am pretty sure it hurts them at least somewhat.

I'd say reading online is not bad. Scanlators also have their own readers, afterall. I admit online readers are very convenient and easy to use.

As for this, look into this thread: Tale of two manga readers. To sum up, MF is violating scanlators' wishes, make money from scanlations (sometimes takes credit for them). Scanlations is supposed to be works by fans for fans, not a tool for making money. I think this is what disgust the community, and thus you see people so pissed off...
