a little confusion

I didnt know that we werent allowed to post topics about scanlation [and had one of my topics locked in one manga] but why is it so if we get to updates the lists: group scanlating and latest release?
also, i believe that asking for whether a manga has been dropped can be asked as i have stumbled across mangas dropped by the author [due to lack of revenues ect]
i understand that you are trying to avoid the mentioning of scanlation/ scanlation groups as it is indeed more or less illegal [depending on license] but if so, shouldnt all mentions about it be completely removed?
my suggestion, as you can see, is more like a question as it really confuse me.
and I am sorry if I posted under the wrong thread

You can talk about scanlations, but you may not ask or post about where to download them (which includes online readers).
You cannot ask when a chapter will be released or why a group is so slow. Go bug the group directly instead of on our forums.
You can ask about author status though (just not scanlation status).

Look this is simply an information site with forums to talk about the manga or stuff in general. I understand your point of view on how come we cant ask about stuff like that but the reason for that IMO is pretty simple. They want to avoid saying something that may or may not be true about a scanaltion grp and that is why they let them keep to themselves for a bit before mentioning anything like this or that has been dropped. Another thing is that yes alot of this is illegal. They can give you information such as how many chapters, volumes, what type of genre, and wether or not it is published in English. If they were to start saying stuff like this has been dropped or whatever it can comeback on them as to say that they endorse and apart of the illegal stuff themselves. In other words think of this as a nuetral site that simply tells u the series when its released and who releases with a poll and forums for the people who come here 🙂 On a side note i think another reason members can change info is to avoid topics such as yours rising up. I missed some things but thats the gyst of it id say. 😎

The confusion lies in the words you use.
When you say "dropped", the logical train of thought would be "a group has stopped working on this manga". What you meant to ask was if the series was axed/canceled.
Even then, if it were, there would be some sort of an official announcement somewhere - be it on mangaupdates or the net :\

yes, i guess the error would be mine as I wanted to know whether the author has stopped the manga [and not scanlation groups]
thank you for your replies. I am happy to see such a rapid response
