If you are going to read a vampire book, what are your hopes in a good plot?
what are your ideas of a good plot, something that gets you totally into the book and you don't want to let gothink about it

I can't really stand the vampire theme in general, it's way too cliched (that's what you get for watching Angel and Buffy the Vampire slayer religiously as a little kid).

Also why does it have to be about love? Ever see Underworld or Underworld Evolution? What about the original Dracula story (tho Mina Murray and Johnathan Harker were engaged and she was kinda turned into a vampire but that's not the point!).

I'm not so into the whole dark romance angst type book. Really Twilight is more of an angsty romance than a true spine chilling vampire story. I remember the good old days when vampires still scared the shit out of me. Nowadays they over humanize these fearful creatures which takes the whole scary edge away =/.

Tho I must conceed I do read some vampire love storys, just not much. I'm reading Rosario + Vampire and Twilight is sitting on my desk yet to be opened (it's been there for almost a year, just have never gotten around to reading it).

It's not that surprising on the count that I'm a guy, I probably wont find this "Edward" fellow quite as attractive as females do.

Oh the twillight series is on my to read list. But common people if we're talking about good vampire books there's only one author name that comes to mind : Anne Rice.
Has anyone ever read one of her books from the vamoire chronicles ?
