hi, is there a manga (manhwa) that is dealing with south korea and north korea conflicts, life, korean war etc.?
if there is an option between "to do" and "not to do", I will always choose the latter.

Unfortunately I have no suggestions, but I like the idea so I post this to stay in the loop a bit if there are.
However, I suspect there aren't any, since Japan and South-Korea generally try to not acknowledge the existence of North-Korea. Most western media where North-Korea is involved gets censored.
I remember the Japanese/Korean release of the game Homefront had to censor North-Korea out, turning it into an "unnamed nation to the north." Meaning Canada invaded the US. 🤣
Only Manhwa I can remember where NK is even mentioned is God of Highschool

Wild School has something like that north Korean operative{spy} infiltrates south Korea and stuff happens, not being scanlated anymore though (2 volumes missing) so yeah

I don't know if this is completely scanlated in English, and I don't even know the English title.
In Korean its
은밀하게 위대하게. Roughly translates to "Secretively, Gloriously)
the basic premise is that a top-notch North Korean spy is given a secret mission... to go undercover as the village idiot in a rural village in South Korea to gain info about the daily life of South Koreans.
Mainly comedy in the beginning, shifts to action and more serious themes. AMAZING webtoon.

Covertly, Gloriously. I wasn't too far off =.=

just made an account to post this. I know this is old but it's making me crazy.
I remember reading over a year ago a manhwa about where in that alternative timeline kim jong il gets assassinated instead of dying due to health. I think it is set in 2011 because the 1st chapter is referencing a tropical storm that is approaching the korean peninsula maybe im wrong. Anyway the latest chapter back then was all about the USFK enacting Oplan 5029? They bomb what was supposed to be the "enemy" in NK but the enemy was actually chinese representatives and that chapter ends in a cliffhanger.
The weird thing is I remember bookmarking that manwha on that manga site but i can't find it anymore on that site. I googled also and can't find that manhwa it's like it was removed from the internet. Any help guys? 😕
Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea is of course a comic but it is in black and white so you won´t be lost and it is a 10/10. A movie was supposed to come too but your remember what happened last year. Guy Delisle is on of the best living comic authors full stop so i can recommend all of his output which tends to be political.
Park Chan-wook´s (he did Old Boy) highly praised Joint Security Area is a must too.
Sorry but mangaka (blame their editors) tend to shy away from politics so one needs to go international when touchier topics get involved is my stance.
Covertly Gloriously looks promising though and web publications have more freedom than printed manga i might add so things could change in the future.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.

There's an untranslated manga called Go about a North Korean teenager in Japan.
