[spoilers inside] Zero x Yuuki

If you're not up to date with Vampire Knight, don't read this.
Personally, I am talking about the farewell scene when Yuuki picks Kaname. Am I the only one that found it weird when Zero confessed his feelings to Yuuki and then kissed her?
To me, it felt very out-of-character --- something Zero would not do. He has never come off to me as someone who would pursue Yuuki if she was to choose Kaname (as she did).
It sort of just felt like the author knew it was going to be a HUGE blow to all Zero x Yuuki fans and so she made that scene to pacify them for the time being, so that they wouldn't immediately drop the series.
Opinions?

Not really.
I mean, there have been hints beforehand that Zero really liked Yuki that way. Like that time, he almost kissed her. 😛

Haha, I'm not saying that Zero doesn't like Yuuki. You're right --- it's quite obvious that he, in fact, does have deep feelings for her. I just thought it rather strange how he had kept his feelings to himself, up until the point that she actually decided to go with Kaname instead of stay with him. He didn't strike me as the sort of man to make himself "vulnerable" in that way. XD

Oh, I see. My bad.
So basically, you asking why Zero would not do anything and keep his bottled up until that scene where Yuki leaves with Kaname?
Um... My guess would be that it's because Zero is kinda introverted and socially awkward, especially with the kind of past he had. There wasn't really a need for him to confess beforehand, it was just there I guess... It also doesn't help that Yuki appeared to only had feelings for Kaname in front of him with with her hero-worship thing. ^_^;;

I think the first person to reply already mentioned this, but there was a "near-kiss", coming from Zero's side in an earlier volume (before she went with Kaname).
I think there's also a difference from this moment than the others. She had always been with him before, and Zero was in the safe zone. He could come to her room if and when he wanted to and talk to her. But this time, isn't she basically taking off for good?
I'm sure if you can read his deep feelings for her, it would be plausible that he would react this way if he felt she was slipping out of his hands. At least it works for me.

too bad I'm a Kaname X Yuki fan, but who knows, ive read many manga, and my prediction is that yuki will end up with zero and something will happen to kaname (like he will die)
right now we're enjoying Kaname X yuki but later on its Yuki X Zero
worrying is just wasting time

Completely agree with you, I like Yuki x Kaname alot more than Yuki x Zero, but ufortunately for me, I am pretty sure its gonna be Zero x Yuki at the end due to some unforeseen circumstances that will cause Yuki x Kaname to break-up or Yuki will somehow suddenly realise that she has been in love with Zero all along while she only thought that she was in love with Kaname. If everything happens according to my predictions, it wil be kind of "meh" in my opinion as I would much rather see Kaname and Yuki stay together till the end of time. I have had it with the girls having sudden realisations, or the old formula in which the first coupling never work out, or the seemingly underdog guy will somhow win the girl at the end, these age old formulas are really getting quite predictable and Cliche'

actually Yuki already realize it, but chose Kaname cause he's lonely and has already sacrifice many just to protect her

@deathgod, see what I mean? Its like she is pitying Kaname and that's never gonna work out if there's no love in it. Poor Kaname, basically, Yuki's strategy is, that she will learn to love Kaname, but 9 times out of 10 attemts like that never work out llike in another shouo manga, the main girl was in love with this guy for a long time but another guy confesses his love for her and then gets into an accident, which ruins his basketball career and she then accepts his confession even though she still loved her old love . So her old love interest then puts her behind him and a new girl works really hard to get the guy and just when the new girl and the main girl's old love interest are about to hook up, the main girl suddenly realises that she can't keep up this false love for her present BF anymore and then cries and apologises and runs after her old love.LoL
These girls think sympathising will make the guys happy when in the long run it hurts them. Like how Yuki will eventually leave Kaname for Zero. I dont like Zero BTW, because to me, Zero's and Yuki's relationship has always been a sibling sorta love when in reality Kaname and Yuki are the real siblings but they never acted like siblings with each other but with ero, Yuki acted with him just like how a sister would. This is just my opinion though

Zero and Yuuki are technically adopted siblings, while Kaname and Yuuki are apparently blood-related. But you're right, dark mage, it's just an opinion. Everyone's opinion of how siblings are supposed to act differ anyway, depending on a lot of deciding factors (ethnical background, the environment they were raised in, etc.). People need to weigh those factors in. It's strange for me to hear anyone downplaying Zero and Yuuki's relationship as "sibling-like/love" just to justify their pairing (the oft exclaimed, "...because Zero and Yuuki are just like siblings."). (Same goes for Kaname and Yuuki)
For one thing, I'd be hard-pressed to find any sibling who would allow her "brother" to - say - suck on her neck or come into her room whenever he wants, and blush around him, etc. etc. Also there's a lot of (and excuse my language) sexual tension with the blood-sucking between Yuuki and Zero. You'd be daft not to sense it. If they were actually real siblings, or if that's how real siblings are supposed to behave, I would feel really grossed out.
I'm not liking VK at the moment. Not because of KanamexYuuki, but it's a drag. I'm going to pull a BGI and wait until the end to read and enjoy it more fully.
If it's any consolation, although I prefer ZeroxYuuki, I see the potential for KanamexYuuki. I do see that Yuuki's admiration and love for Kaname (it's there, because she says so). Whether that love will outweigh her growing feelings for Zero is left to be seen. I think Matsuri-sensei pulled a good one on us. We really don't know which way the series will go (couple-wise).
