Lol, nice stats.
Manga in Youtube sucks I'd say.
There is mainly some Naruto and that really
looks gross.

The size wouldnt really help cuz it would be really small plus there are times when I wanna look at the drawings carefully and I might not have enought time

Wow, they finally found something worse than low-quality fansubs on youtube...

Quote from Takiko

Well it sort of seems like it's an AMV without the music... People have MMVs (Manga Music Videos) and have probably shot for more than a slideshow. But I don't know if YouTube compressed the video, but just looking at the lettering, it's not as sharp as it could be compared to other videos on YouTube. I've seen worse, but the image quality isn't at its best.

Well, it does have music...a background one, but music nonetheless. And besides that, it also has SFXs, so it feels more like an anime chapter than a MMV (an incredible difficult task, I must say).
And uploading something to YouTube is always going to end in some form of quality lose, since every video is transcoded into .flv format and the audio is reduced to mono and re-encoded to a lower bit rate. I believe that there used to be a way to avoid this (which involved encoding your own videos into FLV format before uploading them, but I think that it doesn't work anymore...)

Haha what great poll results. The whole idea of this seems kinda stupid to me and whats the whole point? Is it so lazy people can have automatic page flipping?

Most of them are, but from time to time you get to find truly masterpieces ( like this one ) but I agree that the majority of them are a bother to read.

Indeed, that is nice. I wouldn't mind to enjoy a nice chapter or even a oneshot done like this. But it isn't a way for me to read manga on a regular base.

There're also some mixed videos of Manga and Anime re-telling something that wasn't animated or different animated, which is pretty good sometimes.

I read a few on youtube, and some of them are actually pretty good. some put a lot of time and effort into it (like with sticking individual pictures in each frame and stuff so you can read), so I can't totally be against what they do. Most of them though are pretty bad and hard to read.

hahaha, you have got to be kidding! Doesn't seem so though, but still, what a senseless thing to do.

It's just easier to read in image format. Even if the video is done with the maximum quality possible, when you upload it to youtube it will always get worse. It's just a lot of work to read and to make them. You'll have to be pausing and stuff all the time.

For me personally, it would not be helpful, since I have probs viewing any sort of movie-type file.
But if someone wants to put the effort on putting manga on youtube, that's their choice.

No i definitely do not think its a good idea. For one it is impossible to read. For two, when there is a bunch of videos tagged as anime on youtube it seems to cause them to remove all of the anime tagged videos, including actual videos, not just videos of pictures one after the other.

I don't think it's a good idea too. Some ppl make a vid so you can read it, but you can't see the overall manga pg that good. They do by making you read sections of the page at a time. Others just post the whole manga pg into 1 slide & that makes it unreadable. I prefer downloading the manga or reading in online. A good site would be www.thespectrum.net! 🙂 That site has some manga, but it's still a very good site!

The people who actually watch/read those should just download the scans T.T
