I don't know, but who do you think is most probably going to read shonen ai?
Not a big number of Shonen fans anyway... on the other hand I can easily see Shoujo readers reading something like that.

This world is becamming more and more hopeless every passing day...

But a lot of the yaoi stories are shojo manga, just worse. In Yaoi there's no real happy medium.

On one hand you have the super sappy shojo-like shounen-ai/yaoi and on the other hand you have this twisted relationship between two men. (by twisted I don't mean wrong, I mean in how the men deal with it)

And to answer the original question:

Have you ever read any of CLAMP's works? If no then you should pick up Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles or maybe X/1999. Both prove the point of having shojo and shonen-ai undertones.

And You're So Cool is another good example of that (as is Snow Drop) because both series have the main pairing of man x woman but have the side pairing of man x man.

It's like asking why people consider Sailor Moon to have shojo-ai/yuri undertones.

off topic (i think): xDD i am a big fan of yaoi. Yaoi... with guys...nice smooth butt....and their muscles .__. something i HAVE to see!!! And yaoi are pretty much like hentai, straight forward and not really a good plot. Unless it's volumes long and that is different xDD

I don't like shounen-ai 🙁 i just felt that sweet story with kissing is not enough xD yes big pervert.
