In manga, we usually get to see the main characters described as perfect beings with straits like: extremely good-looking, smart like hell, amazingly athletic, naturally popular, seemingly generous... and of course insanely rich. When they appear, "gyaaa" can hear mostly everywhere and people surrounds them like ants. They are the so-called "prince/princesses" 😲

Well enough with description (and exaggeration 😀 ) , what I want to ask is

  • Have you ever known a person having 2 or more straits like those? Please understand my word "know". That person has to live near you ( same class, school, neighbourhood or even closer as friends) and you have the chances to communicate or observe him/her.
  • What do they do or have to be called "idols" ? What kinds of their personality? How do they behave in front of and behind people's eyes?
  • Have you ever had a chance to talk with them? What was the situation?
  • How do you feel when seeing them? If you could, would you like him/her to be your lover? 😁 😁 😁

And if there is already such a topic, please tell me the link 😎

I don't think a person like that could exist. If they did, what would I be sitting around reading shoujo manga for?

I have a friend I think is a total princess, but she still doesn't fit the title. Like any real person, she has flaws that make her normal once you understand her.

🤣 You are misunderstanding me. I do not mean that one person has to fit all options, just two or three like beautiful, good at studying. The main point is that person has to be popular or respected by some or many people. You know, there are times when you hear from your friends a super cool upper/underclass men and they are gonna drag you to see the "star".

My princesses and prince~

One of my best friends is beyond pretty, extremely generous, funny, shy, open-minded, and very popular. She also talks to her parents with a very very high level of respect. She follows all these rules in her house. It's one of those trophy families.

I have another friend who is from a rich family and has about every game system available. (jealously!) His house is pretty large, he's athletic, funny, and extremely smart (validictorian), can solve a rubik's cube in less than a minute __. But with those traits come with an extra-large dish of Giant Ego. 🤢

Lastly, my childhood friend is very gorgeous, and generous. Her grades are average, but she's very good at socializing. The thing is, she became indifferent to about everything because she's adapted to being popular with about everyone. She's popular because she has no bad or biased opinions at all. Just what people want on the surface. No best friends. But all acquaintances.

I suppose I knew of a girl one grade lower than me who was pretty (did modeling) and achieved high grades too. But hmm, besides that, no one comes to mind. 😮

Perhaps it is my point of view.
Whenever my friends drag me off like that (which does indeed happen from time to time), I find myself very dissapointed with the results (the prince), and I can never undstand those people being fawned over.

But, looking at it from their perspective and not my own, I suppose I have met several princely characters...

Hahaha XD That made my day! 🤣

Nah I've never met someone like that. Sure, I've met the extremely clever people, the rich, the athletic etc, but it's either one or the other. I don't think I've met a person that has a mixture of these.

I knew somebody like that.
He looked like a miniature Leonardo DiCaprio and it this was the few years after Titanic came out. Right in the middle of the Titanic craze.

We were in the same class for 5 frigin years of elementary school. All of the girls liked him, and all of the boys wanted to be his best friend. Sickening.

Interestingly enough he once told me how much he hated Leonardo because all the girls liked Leonardo. As if he wasn't popular enough already...

The last time we met was when were both 15 and he still looked like a super model, but that was 5 years ago... so there's no telling.

I have one person in mind. We're in the same grade for quite a long time until I moved to another school.

good-looking well... people think so. So, check

Smart like hell. He was in a special class, prepared to just go straight to junior high instead of grade 6 when we were in our grade 5. Always in the top 3 in our grade. Perfect English, excel math... So, smart: check

Athletic. He was the top-scorer in many of our school football matches. He was the fastest runner. He also did really well in gymnastics, baseball, basketball, etc.... So, athletic: check.

Naturally popular. He had a lot of friends and many girls were secretly "gya...." behind him. We're not used to scream over a guy or someone in our school or culture. But yup, he was popular in our school. All the girls in my class like him except me and my gf. Popular: check

Generous... well kinda. He can't seem to get angry and always smile. For some reasons, that make me sick actually 🤢 but yes, generous: check

Insanely rich. Hm... since our school was a private school and kinda expensive for my country's standard, so yes. In addition to that, he was born overseas so you know... people kinda think he's awesome. Dunno why. Anyway, rich: check

If that's not enough, he was also the head prefect. All the teachers adore him and he never had a single tiny problem in school with anyone. Good with his hands. Did great in art class whatever the assignment was.

Do you think he's a prince? Funny enough, I did think he's a prince if he's in manga - you know the character that you'll fall for and all gya with. But then, I don't gya all over him. I think he's too perfect and I can't seem to bring myself to like him somehow

The closest to that I've ever met ruined it by pretending to be gay. He was cute, all honors/AP classes in High school, very popular with the performing arts group (and I went to a school known for it's performing arts programs). And then he pretended to be gay so he could get away with grabbing girls.

Other than that, if there ever were any "prince" types in my school, my friends were as apathetic as me about it and I therefore never learned abut them.

No none of those here. They are either pretty or really smart.
Those that are both usually turn into slackers and party their lives away.

They aren't exactly prince or princess but I know a few people who are very very high up.

I was in the same class as a girl who was the daughter of the (current) prime minister of my country. She didn't stand out that much, a bit shy maybe? Definitely not the most notable person in my class. Smart? She surely isn't the best, I'd say mediocre at worst and possibly above average in some.

There was also a girl in my class who was apparently around 100-200 (don't exactly remember) in-line to the Throne. In my country that is a big deal, the King/Queen has the most influence over the people. Did I like her? Don't know, she had an annoyingly snobby English ascent. Probably a lot more noticeable than the previous girl but she was definitely smart. Athletically, I don't know, I think she did join some sports teams...

Oh and guess what... there was a girl in my grade/year who was a daughter of a CEO of an oil tycoon in Nigeria. Didn't like her much, she practically insulted most people around her (including the teachers).

The point of these examples? Well royalty or not we are all human and have the flaw, the more you try to reach perfection the more flaws emerge. (I'm pretty sure its a quote from somewhere) The idea of a perfect human being for me is just boring. The bad things in people make the good things so much better.
