Today there was a post by Manick in which he described how Mangaupdates has lost the support of Google's Adsense for some unknown reason.

I did some digging, and came up upon this:

Basically, Google has been dropping sites that contain any sort of "loli" from their Adsense. Mangaupdates is mentioned in that article as the 874th top ranked on Adsense (which in my opinion, is an extremely high rank), which makes sense why Google has dropped it. In a more general sense, it describes the apparent illegal status pertaining to sites that in some way are affiliated with virtual child pornography.

Any thoughts?

lmao that's so true! This website does not directly support "adult" manga, it just tells you where to go. That's like getting rid of maps that tell you how to get around a city because there is an adult store in the city.

Ah, I spoke too early. Apparently we are being targeted.
Well, there's no where near as much advertising here as there is on somewhere like Mangafox...

But still. I am still in awe that one badly-written article by a man who has previously written articles reviewing and supporting lolicon could end up causing what's probably the most effective attack on manga in general in the Western world since it first showed up here.

What on earth happened to that man?
