Mmmm...lost a grandad. I was 10 then and we weren't close so I didn't really suffer..

I knew he was dead but I was crying at the funeral because I saw the others crying...

My grandma back in winter of 2004. She was in and out of the hospital for about 2 years before that and she was about 83, so for me it was just a matter of time. Lots of people crying at the funeral and surprisingly a lot of people I never knew.

My dog back in the summer of 2003 (I think...). Some idiot decided to tie him up in the middle of a heat wave without putting any water near him so he can drink. Probably the only pet my family owned that I actually liked.

I lost a cousin but we weren't close or anything, barely knew her actually, my grandparents from both my mother's side and father's side. I lost my mother too, to cancer, and I still think about that... 😢
I also lost 2 cute little budgies and one canary. ( also fishes, but I don't know if they really count 😛 )

Only relative who's died in my lifetime was my great-grandmother at the age of 94. I barely knew her and felt little sadness. But both my parents were quite sad. Since she died of old age, and was barely doing anything anyways, it wasn't shocking, just moving on.

Actually had a rough couple of years. First, I lost one of my grandpa's to a long battle with cancer. By the time he died, he was so changed in appeareance. Then, I lost a guy I knew from my church. Honestly, I'd only met him a few times, but most of my friends had gone to elementary and middle school with him, so they had it rough and it reminded me of my grandpa so I was pretty depressed for a while. Less than a year after Cody, my other Grandpa died of Altzimers (or however you spell it), just a few weeks after Christmas. Other than that, I've been lucky to escape death (except for a cat and maybe a few odd fish).

i lost my father when i was 1 year old.. i'm too young to remember nor to feel sad about it. so it's not painful for me.

lost pets, countless of times.. at first, it hurts like hell.. now, after too much, i got used to it.. not even a second look at the dead body of my pets..

i hope i lose my older brother without me involved in it. oh well..

WHAT??
Well, I didn't lose anyone. Guess I'm kinda lucky.
I lost some pets 'tough: 1 Hamster, 2 Goldfishes, 1 Dog, 1 Frog (of course he didn't live that long. Took him from Czech republic to Holland, in the car of course, in a bucket), 2 Guinea-Pigs.

I lost Paul Newman.

Recently a friend of mine's daughter died from a brain tumor. She was a sweet little girl, it was a shame she had to die so young.

As far as family goes, I lost two grandmothers and a grandfather (I know this may sound cruel, but I was actually HAPPY when I heard one of my grandma died... because she'd had suffered Alzheimer's disease for 9 years... and, in the end, she didn't walk, talk, eat or do anything at all on her own. She didn't recognize anyone and simply stayed in bed all day, suffering. At least all the suffering ended with her death.)

As far as other people go... Well, my teacher died and that shocked me quite a bit; also, my high school has been really infamous: every year, ever since its Principal had died 8 or 9 years ago, somebody from school would die (I know it sounds creepy, but it's true): in my first year, exactly on my birthday, another first year boy (not in my class, but we were having PE together) died of a heart attack while running laps. That was pretty shocking.

The next year, my best friend's cousin (whom I'd never really talked to, but it was shocking and sad all the same, considering she was 17-18 at the time) committed suicide. Then, in my third year, the one who really marked me the most: one of the best friends of my crush went out celebrating after Lazio (the soccer team he rooted for) won a match... then, drunk, he climbed a pole in the park and fell asleep on top (there was a little platform). He must have turned in his sleep and fell down; he died on the spot, obviously.

But really, it was such a shock... Everyone crying, classes being skipped, the funeral....
