I'd prefer a male main character, but either gender is fine. Basically I'm tired of main characters who freak out over every little thing and would prefer a character who can keep his or her cool in any situation without going off into wild fantasies over the touch of a hand or a mildly suggestive comment. At the same time I'd still prefer the main character to be inexperienced.

I'd also like a romance where the main character is a lovable idiot but knows to keep his mouth shut (or is quiet by nature). Preferably male.

I also wouldn't mind seeing an incredibly perverted female main character, who at the same time isn't sexually promiscuous.

yuria 100 shiki while the series is about the main girl, the lead guy is i think what your after, only maybe to an extreme. kind of an episodic rom/com

inu neko jump def original as far as shounen romances go, but it's been a while since i read it but i think the male lead is what you want.(also look for the epic quote in the part with the hotel later on, it's my favorite)

I'm sorry I don't have any lists (I'm lazy, sue me), but I've read both of them. yuria 100 shiki filled two requirements of what I was looking for, and I really liked Inu Neko jump, which did have a good protagonist. Someone like the main character in those is what I'm looking for.
