So which December holidays do you celebrate, if any?

For me, it's only Christmas. And I mean the real form of Christmas, with celebrating the birth of Jesus, not just all the gift giving and the hype that American society makes it out to be nowadays

Question: Which December holiday do you celebrate?
Choices:
Christmas - votes: 8763 (65.5%)
Hanukkah - votes: 167 (1.2%)
Kwanzaa - votes: 32 (0.2%)
2 of the above - votes: 182 (1.4%)
All 3 of the above - votes: 84 (0.6%)
Something else - votes: 462 (3.5%)
Does New Year's Eve count? - votes: 2022 (15.1%)
None (not even New Year's Eve) - votes: 1664 (12.4%)
There were 13376 total votes.
The poll ended: January 9th 2010

We celebrate the end of the year and the begining of the new one.
...
With a tree, presents, champagne, food and Russian festive shows.

Despite being a Jew, I don't celebrate Hanukah.
So don't ask. =)

Just Christmas for me too.

And for the reason it's Christmas. We hardly do presents anymore as well. I think the presents are really for the kids anyway.

I celebrate Christmas and New Years Eve. I only celebrate them by getting presents and eating dinner with my family though

Christmas for me. it's the only day in a year that you don't need an excuse to eat more than you need to. presents are also good though i haven't really got anything that i really wanted in a while. then again there is nothing that i really want. 😀

What about Thanksgiving? 0.o

For me, I celebrate Christmas/New Years, and then if my Jewish Aunt comes over (she normally does), we light some Hanukkah candles, sing some songs, and eat some traditional jewish food. This year she didn't come over though, so my family just did Christmas and new years.

Here we start with Sinterklaas (5th december), then Christmas (25th and 26th december), and after that we celebrate the new year (31th december/1 jan).

I can't say that I really do celebrate Christmas, as I don't really put up tree and put presents under it. I just give family presents on Christmas Eve and tell them to open it on Christmas day.
Reason I do that is because my birthday is on Christmas. I am celebrating my birthday and not Christmas.
True I only get one present, but all I ever ask for is happiness among friends and family =]

I'm in retail; read that as I hate the so called "holidays." I only celebrate Lunar New Year. And then, it's mostly a "I'm glad that mess is finally over and I can get on with the important things in life."

For those who truly believe in their religions and sincerely wish good things to others, I applaud your good will.

For the rest of you who buy stuff only because of the required socio-cultural gift giving, please, for the love of all you hold holy, shop during the rest of the year so I won't have two months of 106 hour work weeks.

Because he might not be American... or maybe an American Indian, or Native American... which ever one that's preferred. If the latter, I don't think there's anything to be thankful for that day.

As for me, I don't celebrate anything.
