I think Brazil will win: they're probably the strongest team, but even if they weren't, they will get a lot of help from referees (that Nishimura guy proved it yesterday).

The tops of each Group for me: Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Argentina, Germany, Belgium. Let's see how many of them I will get right 😀

I'm inclined to think Brazil are most likely, just because of the extra motivation and support they get due to it being a home cup. Naturally, I'm hoping the Aussies turn in some good performances, but our chances of getting anywhere are very slim.

and the chance of the team/country hosting the WC winning is not large

Nahh, no way Brazil comes close to this one, they woud've lost or at least come to a draw against Croatia, who wasn't in their best set-up, if they didn't have huge help from the Referinho(who was MVP of last nights game), and imagine now what will a team like Spain or Germany do to them after that kind of performance, not to mention that altho they won against Spain in Confederate Cup(which they've been barking about like mad) no one takes that crap seriously.
I'm hoping for Netherlands who have always had good teams but never any luck in these sorts of things to show smt this time around and also perhaps Spain because they play a beautiful game. And ofc for my own team to show smt better this time around, the last game was a poor performance in a lot of areas and we were cheated completely.

Well, the chance the host team wins isn't that small. Brazil is a team that can afford the luxury of not playing that well and still win a world cup. Historically no european team won a cup hosted in the american continent, so lets see if it remains that way or not.
I don't expect my national team (Argentina) to win the cup, but it would be nice if that happens.

That's part of the fun and it makes every goal important.
this is the biggest starting event in the world so it's understandable that people will be talking about it.
Right now Spain is beating Netherlands 1-0. it's South Africa all over.

i know right. that superman goal was just class. i thought he was going to volley the ball with his foot but what he did was even better.

This is not happening 5-1 to Netherlands and here i was thinking it would be 2010 all over again.
Spain better get their act together so they don't do an Italy.
