Well, Brazil beat Chile. That was an intense penalty shoot-out. I feel bad for Chile, I was really rooting for them and thought they were a better team over all.

I hope that now that they have this game over with, Brazil will get better. They were pretty sloppy today but I understand that the pressure was all on them. I don't see Neymar playing much after this and losing him is a big loss for the team.

Germany isn't going to win? Sounding very confident. They just finished top in arguably the scariest group this year, really haven't shown big weakness...whilst i think netherlands are giant killers, its hard to say they will win it all at this point. Definitely the dark horse.

Germany almost lost to Algeria

and they've finished 3rd in like 3 consecutive world cups.. I'm 100% sure they're going to finish third or worse. They're so overrated.. they haven't won anything with this team and people expect them to win the world cup every time, like, lolok.

I thought Germany was the most likely candidate to victory, especially after they kicked our arses right off the bat 🤣 (which we deserved, since we were sooo bad in all our miserable attempts). But then again they almost lost to Algeria, so I'm not too sure now. Personally I would like Colombia to win this Cup (enjoying their performance so far) but I'm afraid Brazil will have the upper hand again next match. They are not playing that well this year but, somehow, they've made it through this far. I hope the Netherlands doesn't move on---anything but that. Mexico deserved that game and Robben should be made a freaking example and put to bloody shame or something >:-( 😛

I want a new winner and I feel that Netherland is overdue.
Brazil has been quite lucky but they will struggle in thier next match. I really don't want the throphy going to a past winner.

Costa Rica has been a real supprise this tournament.

Not likely, Germany didn't won in their homecountry, Italy got the title and the runner up was France. But, it's hard to tell since Neymar is out of the World Cup... and psychologically that might add a lot of pressure to the rest of the team (dunno how their therapist is working that out, seemed to work in their last match though). Hulk is an awesome player, but the rest have been not that good and Germany has a solid team.
Such a pitty for Costa Rica, they gave everything.

Hardly. Germany didn't need to play well or do anything special; Brazil was just bad. I have no idea how a 65 year old manager, who has managed for more than 25 years can show such an extreme case of tactical naivety, yet that's what happened.

You don't play with 2 extremely attacking fullbacks, leaving 2 MAYBE 3 defenders behind, against one of the best attacking teams in the world. It beggars belief that after 5 goals, he didn't even change his tactics. Look at every single time Brazil attacked, at-least 4 defenders in the box, usually more.

Germany capitalized on Brazil's naivety, yes, however it isn't an accurate representation of them.

Netherlands beat the reigning champions Spain 5-1, why isn't everyone backing them to win?

Because Spain beat themself, just like Brazil did.
