I like reading Anatolia Story, but one of the things that I could do without is how sappy the romance in it is. Does anyone know of any similar fantasy and/or historic stories that focus more on the political affairs and processes, the espionage and subversion, the different parties in power trying to each achieve their own goals, and the nationalistic mentality and loyalties that some of the players involved have (Whether it be about having their nation survive or their nation being top dog)? Would also prefer if the series focused less on the action and thriller aspects.
