Who should be credited as manga artist?

This manga https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=148847 that is based on a web novel has three people credited: story, manga, and character design. I assume "story" is the guy who wrote the web novel, I don't know what character design is supposed to be, but possibly it's the illustrator for the novel? And the "manga" credit is presumably the guy who drew the manga.
The current credits on the MU page list the story guy as the author, and the character design guy as the artist. I was wondering if the artist credit should actually go to the guy listed under the "manga" credit in the manga itself.

Many LN adaptations can have similar problems. The character designer (aka. the original artist) and the actual manga artist are both credited in some cases. Ookami to Koushinryou is such an example. It´s not just MU. Actual retailers and the manga´s credits page list both. Other adaptations just have 2 credited artists with no connection to the LN. As is the case here.
Your case seems easy to solve, due to the Amazon listing. The publisher settled on this: 2 Artists (written as authors for some reason) and 1 author (credited with "original book" ). The switcheroo is a bit confusing of course. NAZUNA Miki is thus the author. The already present Subachi is one artist and so is "真綿". Who still has to receive a MU entry. Cotten, aha.

Thanks! That makes sense, I'll go with that edit then. I can't find confirmed reading for 真綿 the mangaka, but the word itself is pronounced "mawata", so I'll go with Mawata for the name.

In my opinion a full-fledged manga artist is the one who can come up with a story and can visualize the story in his or her mind on paper with the characters and background.myanimelist
