I would probably have said something similar, but knowing of the overpopulation problem in the world, it should be good for the species to slow down the reproduction thing.

So I say yes, same sex marriages mean no children and bigger space for the rest of humanity to live.

No, I think same sex couples are okay, just not same sex marriages. I'd actually prefer all girls to be bi, but I'm pretty sure that's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Lets say that in a gay couple that has being together for 10 years one of the guys die, without a testament, then who gets all his belongings? The government?

The dead guy would obviously prefer that his partner gets his stuff. But he can't, coz his no family and they aren't married. That is not right.

I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed, given equality and all that jazz. It seems stupid to forbid two people who obviously care about each other from marrying if they want to.

As for arguments based in biology, I'd like to point out that such logic declares that people who are infertile have no right to be married, either. Honestly, basing the argument on biology is pointless. It's not about reproduction; it's about marriage (read: love). There is a difference. And, technically, using the biology debate, male homosexuality is more "biologically correct" than female homosexuality. Just wanted to throw that out there, since people normally bypass lesbians in such debates.

Plus, if you want to say it goes against evolution, medicine goes against evolution. If evolution had its way, vaccines and antibiotics wouldn't exist, forcing our species to adapt genetically in some way. If we're already that far into the hole of evolution, I don't think that allowing same sex marriage will hurt the gene pool all that much.

Buuuuuuuuuuuut that's only my opinion on the subject.

I know that the population of earth is increasing, but it is because the standard the living has improved past years. Once standard of living reaches the optimum level, the birth rate and death rate would remain constant unless a weapon of mass destruction destroys a half of population. So, bigger space for the rest of humanity doesn't really matter.

Here in New Zealand we have Civil union's which are pretty much same sex marriages.
I think that they are fine. If a man and a womane can get married why shouldn't two people of the same sex be able to.
