SPOILERS AHEAD

Just a bit curious. Does anyone know any disaster movies that actually ends bad?

Like if, in Armageddon, instead of the last minute success they fail to destroy the asteroid and BOOM... or if they would fail to restart the core in The Core and --> grilled Earth.
Or something less... catastrophic but it ends with a severly reduced human-kind trying their best to survive.

Closest I can think of is 2012 (just a bit too Hollywoody for me, the guy still gets the girl back and everyone is more or less happy (not counting the 98% people that just died, but whatever...)) and Deep Impact (where they actually do fail to completely destroy the asteroid leading to the flooding of large parts of the Earths landmass, albeit temporary).
