Oh jeez, I remember them. I was thinking the mangaka bro was going to use them some time soon to unexpectedly save everyone, or something. If not, it's almost laughable how they were introduced and just as quickly forgotten. What a garbled mess this has turned out to be.

He's still alive, in the last chapter he was on the alien planet with the rest of the team. Unless you mean how he originally died, which was from trying to stop Izumi during his killing spree.
