Hi I am new here 😀 I have only watched and enjoyed the 1984 anime and the 2005 anime. I don't really like the live action version or the OVA. I have yet to read the manga though I do not know if I will.
Ichiren and Chigusa's relationship doesn't get much coverage in the 2005 anime. We know that Ichiren rejected her advances, but we don't know how he truly felt about her since we don't have access to his thought. I do believe they were soul mates, I could write a few paragraphs as to why but I don't think I should 🤣 anywho does the manga talk a little bit more about Ichiren and Chigusa?

Sorry, I only speak from personal experience, I found it through the anime as well (the '84 version, I've not seen any of the '05 one, no interest in it actually) ....yeah, there's just no comparison (for me at least, but I've been a "read" over "watch" kind of person for a long time).

I'm not spoiling you, read the manga. Yeah, their relationship is expanded on past what it seems like you've seen.
