I know what you mean, it seems as if one light shower or a drizzle can cause some person in manga to get pneumonia or something. I honestly get sick once every year or so, I've been out of school for sick days once... in 8th grade, none in 9th and one this year =/

It's weird for me because, whenever I have the need to jump out of bed in a jolt (if I was late for school) I would get sick. But most of the time, it's my allergies acting up.
I also live in SF where it's always cold. I'm immune. 🙂

I'll play outside in the rain and stay in my wet clothes and when I get out of the shower, I never dry off good. When I get sick, it's normally because of allergies or from being around someone else that's sick, but I almost always get really sick around Christmas.

i once tought like that... but lately i'm almost in the manga level of catching colds, if i shiver a little, i start taking medicines to as to not get sick, tought it work only sometimes.... i'm tired of getting colds already... >:-(

I don't usually catch colds and when I do, I usually think something I'm allergic to just pollinated or someone hasn't vaccuumed like they were supposed to. When I do catch a cold (and realize it), I just act like I didn't; only think I do is take Nyquill for a day or two and I'm better.
So, colds aren't that big a deal, but I catch tons of other viruses that hang out for weeks just making me tired, headaches, sore throat, etc. (but without the sneezing) I can't tell you how many times I've been tested for mono (which I never have); and strep throat, now that I think of it. So, I catch every virus out there EXCEPT the cold.

I get sick a lot... I'm not sure why.

But its usually just a sinus infection, and those are easy to get. Like.. breathing something like dust...

Umm no not really. In fact, I've never had a cold...at least none that I'm aware of. (don't call me an idiot! >:-( ) I hardly get sick 🤣

i don't catch cold that often anyways so i didn't have any cold caused by sleeping without blankets.

It's not just the catching of colds that seems so outlandish to me...it's the debilitation that the common cold supposedly causes.

I catch a cold maybe once a year, and it's never bad enough for me to call a sick-day (heck, usually it's only a slightly stuffy nose and a scratchy throat). Yet, how often do you see those kinds of colds in Anime or Manga?

That's not even going into the "I'm bedridden and need to be pampered" colds that most Romance characters seem to get.

I feel your pain. I have one every week.

I'm still trying to get rid of the cold I've had since 11 days ago. It got pretty bad at one point, where I had a really high fever and felt like I was gonna pass out. Just like in the mangas, I was bedridden for 5 days, slept and got anything I wanted... actually, not really, I had to do everything. :< . Sighhh... now I'm on medications again. Oh joy. >.>
