Crossing Over in enertainement

So I doubt this is a recent trend but I've noticed it happening more.
Anyway I'm not sure how many of you all are aware but there have been music artists from Asia trying to break into the U.S.'s music scene. Or maybe enertainment in general *Death Note/Dragon Ball Z? Kdramas anyone?
Anyway Se7en finally debuted so anyway others.

Utada Hikaru (who is American)
She's had three English albums, one which was just released in Japan two days ago "This Is The One" (it's up for sale internationally later this month digitally and hard copy in May) Her english albulms haven't done the best but some of her singles have (dance/clubs)

Well Se7en has FINALLY debuted, he's been working with Dark Child. Has a song with Lil Kim and Three 6 Mafia. He's also had an older song with Fabulous. -
Boa

Has dropped 2 singles. Eat You Up has an official remix with Flo Rida and she has a song with Sean Garret. She also is featured over on forever21.com so good publicity I think.

Thoughts? Do you think they will be successful? Like their new music? Anyone you'd like to see crossover?
Personally I'm up for all these artists, Interesting that all of these artists are going for a r&b/hip hop slant. Well maybe not interesting because it's not that they haven't done that before and that is Rain and Se7en's market. (+hey it's popular here in the U.S.) Hopefully these people get radio play, because if not than they're chances are slim. Well even more slim the chance of them succeeding is way low... not that I want them to fail.
Utada worked with The-Dream on her new albulm whom I love. So I'm excited, I was a bit sad that she said her songs will be more mainstream but it's okay.And I like a few of her songs anyway so I'd like to see what she will do.
Boa I never really concerned myself with and even though I'm not big on the oversynthesized voice the two singles I've heard are pretty fun (especially Eat You Up is) Also, I don't know how I feel about her sexed up image but I do think that it will help her because the U.S. market accepts that Asian girls are hot not sure about the guys. I also think she has a higher chance of success because her marketing seems to be a bit better.
I already liked Se7en and his songs are okay. Out of him, Rain and Boa he has mastered the English language the best (his accent is not as pronounced) I like both the version of "Girls" (one with Lil' Kim and the one without) Though the vid is kinda lame. Numbers is okay as well. His image I don't hate, I like both his clean(er) image and his 'bad boy' image XD I think his korean look may be to effiminate for the U.S. though. So it was a good move. Also, se7en is giving away free dates and what not... gl to him
Rain, oh rain.... I love your Korean music but your English is awkward. Not that I'm upset but I'm not sure how your takeover is going to go...
Overall everything is okay, nothing OHMYGOSHAMAZING!
No one I really need to debut, my fave bands aren't really people that would do well... Actually not my fave but Big Bang would be mad hot... maybe just T.O.P. I don't follow them but one in the group is made effiminate and that probably wouldn't fly ;_; oh and Gummy because she speaks english well and her voice is amazing <3
as for enertaiment in general some dramas would be so amazing to see, I know some are on asian channels (or maybe channels on the west coast/hawaii??) but there has been more white/black people watching them so hopefully.

Somehow, I don't think they'll be really successful because not many people here know them. I mean of course people on the internet always talk about them but I barely hear about them at school or something.
I hope they'll be successful though.

Yeah I honestly don't think they'll make it big, but they may achieve some sort of success. I've never heard of them around where I live, but to their defense I live around people who worship Britney Spears and the air she breathes. >_>
I have followed Boa's career ever since I heard "Every Heart" in that Inuyasha ending though, and I can truly say that she's doing an awesome job here. I didn't even know about her mainstream crossover until I saw her at a concert that my brother's company sponsored. She was really well known there, much due to her internet fan base though. And her singles have been mildly successful as well, they did get some radio airplay here.
The rest I can't say for sure.

Yeah they just debuted so I can understand that but they really have to get some radio play if they want to be successful. :/ My friends are weird and have varied music tastes XD (country, rap and everything in between) but we don't generally talk about it. (except me I pimp Christian rap and lupe fiasco but besides that nothing) But I wouldn't expect there to be alot of talk because they are new to the American market. (minus Utada but that is different) That and I don't go to hs and I con't discuss music with my classmates. (school is for learning I'm not paying to make friends)
ButyYou know if Se7en could get a song with Lil Wayne(as much as I can't stand him) he'd be set. Successful debut XD

In their defense, Se7en's marketing isn't the best, Rain is ... needs to learn English better and market himself but I understand he was busy in France or something filming. Utada I don't even know but I did here that the albulm is the best out of the rest of thiers'. (Though I'd expect this)
Oh I forgot to say Boa is featured on forever21.com so that could bring in more people. I think they need to promote her more because i've only heard of her through the internet but truthfully I don't go to clubs and I hear they play her there so...But that is great to hear.
Not sure which GDragon is (like i said don't follow them) but there are a couple more in the group I like so <3 XD (and hey they are supposed to come to the U.S. to study dance or hipp hop something w/e.)
