I think that usually even if the manga wasn't super cool, we still remember it with pleasure and even gratitude, because it opened the door to this wonderful world of Japanese comics. The first manga (manhva) - The Breaker. New waves - yeah it was funny but didn't start with the first part 🤣

Inuyasha for me back in 2001. I do not feel nostalgic about it, and wonder why I liked the series in the first place, haha. I ended up dropping the series around 2006 and do not know or care about how it ended. My tastes have definitely changed!

Its probably Doraemon every child reads Doraemon in my country back then. I still love some Doraemon sometimes, still so funny.

It was between Eerie Queerie and Mars.
Almost from the beginning, after purchasing all 4 volumes of Eerie Queerie it lost its luster. And I haven’t reread Mars since, so I’m not sure how much my opinion has changed.

It was Fruits Basket! My sibling had borrowed it from the library once and I tried to read but couldn't understand because I was reading backwards LOL. Some years later I was at the same library and recognised it. Made my friend read it too and now that friend also loves anime and manga. I still love that manga and ended up buying all the volumes which I reread often. It makes me remember the fun I had reading and discussing it with my friend at school and I can get really absorbed in the story.
Second manga I read was Kekkaishi and third was Bleach. Also from the library. Then I found manga sites!

My first manga was Dragon Ball vol 1. I was only 9 years old at the time. My mom bought it from a small Borders in my mall. It was the late 90's. I was hooked the moment I read it and it is forever a warm part of my childhood. It had a "13 and up" warning on it. My parents just thought it meant the reading level. Little did they know 9 year old me would see his first boobies (Bulma's). Needless to say, Dragon Ball will forever hold a special place in my heart.
