If you could pick your own birth name, would you? What if you were a girl/boy?

Okay, let's say you could choose your name at birth. What would it be? Or would you keep your name given to you?
Also, if you were born the opposite gender, what did your parents have in mind for your name and what would you liked to have been called?
and you CANT pick Ashley because I hate it.

XD
Lets see... I would pick something awesome, like Trina or Ashton.
I was going to be called Denim if I was boy.. (Thank god I wasn't one. ), and if I could chose, I would pick something like.. I dunno.. I never thought of it. XD

I've never particularly liked my first name, so I'd probably pick something else. What, I couldn't tell you because I've never really thought about it. Actually changing my name would be far too much of a hassle, at this point.
I honestly don't know if my gender changed shrug.
Waits for the inevitable slew of posts about how my name should be Jeremiah.

Considering how newborn babies are we would all end up with weird names 🤣
But well, since it's a "what if" question, I would answer "no". I'm ok with my current name, even if it's quite common here and not many people call me with it. If I were a girl, feminine version I guess, exchange the final "o" with an "a" 🤣 . Works in spanish!

No! I meant, changing your name at your birth time. Of course a lot of people wouldn't change their name now cause it would be awkward and too much work. But like, growing up with a different name, what would you want it to be?
Is your name Jeremy or somethin?
@ Dragon - You can't pick Ashton! I wanna be Ashton. I hate Ash. I hate it, I always get smartass comments like, "HEY MR. POKEMON" or "yeah, ashLEE" or sometimes I really do get mistaken for an Ashley. 😢
I kinda like Calvin, or Zack. But Calvin reminds me of Alvin (and the chipmunks) and Zack is like...the Sweet Life of Zack and Cody.
As a girl...somethin boyish like Ricki or..idk, something. Or lexy. Lexi....that's a hot name for a girl. But I'd be an ugly girl anyways. 🤢

I was responding to changing it at birth, I was just adding that even though I don't like my name, I wouldn't change it now because it would be too much of a hassle. If it makes you happier, I'll try to think of a name later when I'm feeling more creative ^ ^;.
And if you don't get the Jeremiah thing, just leave it be 🤣 . It's a combination of a meme and an inside joke...

No, I'd stick with my own name, it's pretty unique. I have two middle names though, I'd drop "May" if it weren't the month I was born in. It's too common >_<
Parents told me they would have named me "Cessar", if I were a guy, it's an anagram of my name since it's their initials jumbled up.

i would probably pick Baldrick...sounds so medieval and down to earth at the same time.
If the sea were made of Whiskey and I was a duck
I'd swim to the bottom and never come up
I would be a Jessica heh. As for a guy I'd either be Lance or Anthony. As for Japanese... no idea OTL|||

Hmmm I guess I'd probably keep my name, I like it pretty well even though it brought me a lot of teasing when I was younger & still gets a doubletake and "how is that spelled?" now.
If I'd been a boy, I have no idea what my parents would have named me. They had one boy name & one girl name when my older brother was born, and hadn't come up with anything else by the time I was born. As my mom says, "It's a good thing you were a girl..." 🤣
If I had to choose a boy's name for myself...I have no idea what I'd choose!

I like my name and it has always suited my personality, anything else wouldn't have been as good. If I was a boy, I'd pick Sebastian-always loved that name.

lol i am actually planning to change my name either after I graduate from high school or after I graduate from college. I have a chinese name that I dont use and an english name. My "english" name is sunny, a name my mom chose when I was 6 and when neither of us knew very much english. It seems like it will b a huge pain in the ass but while I'm ok with being called sunny now it is kind of wierd to be called that after I am an adult. As for what I want to change my name to I have no clue...I'm a boy btw.

i personally like my name but Americans one mess up trying to say it when its easier to pronounce then brown or orange or john (my names phonetic but most people try to say it as if my name isn't) or really strange nicknames are made from it but i love name and i would never change it
arch: well if it makes you feel better my names indirectly means sun (it actually means "the one who gives light everyday" in common terms the sun) and i've had my fair share of being called sunny, sunny-boy, sunshine.
