Personally, there's not a definite attraction, it's just something different. I get bored seeing the same things over & over. And, that was the only example I could think of at the moment, although I'm sure that there are many things that can only be done in hentai.

I never really understood the attraction either. It is kind of strange. But I do it because it has a story (the ones I watch) compared to regular porn where it is just sex. I don't watch a ton, but I guess because it is interesting (what I picked).
