i don't read much manga unlike many others here but this is simply amazing.i had found that tobi could be obito about 5 months ago!!that's right,i was reading some post on a big manga forum(forgot the name)& a guy posted a theory of who tobi really is.he wrote that tobi always show only 1 eye in his mask because this is his original eye while the other one was given to kakashi.he also proposed that obito was saved by madara using white zetsu/first hokage cell to restore his crushed half & then became his teacher/mentor.however madara was powerless compared to his young days so some time later obito killed madara(intentionally or being asked by madara himself) & took on his name to pursue his goal.he posted this is why itachi told sasuke that madara is now just a shell of his former self.his theory seemed completely logical to me since by that time it was already revealed that madara was dead.so i want to know is naruto this simple to predict for most here or was the guy who posted this theory months ago got good insight.

I would say that it was somewhat easy to predict. It was a general theory around my friends that tobi was obito, and this was way back like almost 2 years ago when my group of friends and i started to read the manga instead of watching the anime and we saw the kakashi flashbacks. I honestly cant remember who of us convinced the others or what really conviced us, i remember one of my friends said something about the wordplay in both their names. Tobi rearrange letters to obito and some minor stuff like that. I dont think we really had hard evidence or really god references , it just felt right somehow but sometimes some one around us threw in something insane and try to convince us that tobi was 4th hogake ^^

Many of the MU members were already expecting Tobi to be Obito. I think someone posted this theory around 1-2 years ago.

the theory was posted about the time Tobi and Obito were introduced.

mainly on the fact that Obito is like pig latin for Tobi.

i guess now i will never read a prediction for any manga series from now on.didn't knew that so many people can successfully predict twists in manga now-a-days. 🙂

I predicted it as well but there's no honor in being right about it.
It is Naruto after all, what would one expect?

The only mainstream manga which is not predictable. Fishman Islanland arc destroyed its reputation somewhat though, other than that its completly amazing.
I am sure that many of us already know whats going to happen in the next chapter of Naruto. The flashbacks of Tobi/Obito is pretty easy to guess.

I think people are too emotional toward Naruto, it's true that the Tobi Obito Theory was always there, but it would had been pretty damn hard not to come to that conclusion having so many millions of manga readers thinking about that.
Let's not be hippocrats and forget all the other theories that were just plain stupid like Yodaime been Pain and the like.

I, on the other hand, am happy that it was actually like this, Obito was meant to be Toby since the beginning, even tough people tend to think that Naruto, like Bleach, should had ended a long time ago and is just being dragged around, i disagree with this opinion. Naruto was planed to have an specific ending that has been constructed over the years, everything that happen was, in a way, related to the First Hokage and Madara battle in the end and it all comes down to that (Naruto - Madara), i won't deny that many battles were dragged for a long time, but they were good enough to drag in the new young readers with them and, even tough while constantly insulting the manga, keep the old readers in a "at least i want to see how it ends" kind of state.

Onepice, on the other hand, does have a set goal, but at the same time there is no guide for the plot except for Luffy wanting to be Pirate King, anything could happen because that is how the manga was made to be, and the D. thing, the only real plot element that is constant, is missing details to be predicted in anyway. (i'm not badmouthing Onepice, i love the manga, i'm just pointing out something)

Naruto gave away a lot of hints about its plot just so people will try an guess what's next and then see by themselves if they were right or not, lets try not to be overly proud of guessing things, especially if we are already neck deep into manga and read more complex works aimed towards mature readers and, this is my opinion tough, lets try not to insult the manga so much, it's not aimed towards us anyway, i will keep on reading never the less, since i had been reading it since i was a child and i want to see the climax in which, most likely, our beloved character finally makes his dreams come true.

Agree with most of what u said except that specific ending with Madara vs Naruto as the ending, it has been kinda foreboding that Sasuke and Naruto would have a rematch in the same style as the first hokage and Madara which would likely be the last battle. Madara vs Naruto is just more of a an event that happened just along the way.

Most fans saw this coming right when TOBI appeared at first (revealed his name), we where like fuck no Kishi can't be that stupid... or is he?

you are probably right, i kind of forgot Sasuke for a moment there, thanks for pointing that out.

Even though it has be established that tobi is infact obito...the identity tobi has existed before obito took it up...
It was tobi who calling himself madara, controlled the 4th Mizukage
He attacked Konoha with the Nine-tails and also helped Itachi go nuts upon his tribe

So basically what i've been pondering over is that before Obito, who was masquerading about as Tobi...?
It couldn't have been Madara as he was too frail and old for the job

Or I could have gotten the whole chronology wrong...

In manga Tobi is already becoming Obito and Madara is somehow locked up, but fourth Hokage is still alive. It's seems so that Obito was controlling nine tails and at the same time he was using him in a fight fourth. So Kishimoto will use some cosmic force again and give Obito amazing power from the universe that will explain how could that be.

Deus ex machina, so it's same old, same old.

But wait, the invasion of Konoha with Kyuubi is way further the time Obito became Tobi (Minato was still alive in this last chapter, when Kakashi killed Rin).
Also, Itachi is much younger than Obito (Minato had already died, Naruto and Sasuke were around his 6 or 7? So Obito was even older)

There's every way possible for the same Tobi that invaded Konoha be the same that influenced Itachi, now that we know that the grown-up body of Tobi has nothing to do with his age, but with the Zetsu involving his body, probably. Then it's plausible.

Though I don't remember what's it about the 4th Mizukage you're talking about (really bad memory), I believe the Tobi's in each situation are the same.

And the theory about Tobi = Obito are nothing new xD Simply no one had a good reasoning for that.
Everyone thought the same because of the mask showing only the right eye with a sharingan.

Some time after, when nothing about his true identity was discovered, that the different theories started to appear. And now it's confirmed 😛
