There have been so many more fitting manga that you have said are not it,so I really don't have many hopes for these... but the fact that you can't find it is really annoying me; hope you find the manga!
I haven't actually properly read them, but from the pages I read they seemed to sort of fit a bit

And I have read it maybe in 2007, most likely in 2008, maybe 2009, definitely not 2010 or 2011.

I remember a story(manga/TV) in which a guy had to wear very heavy glasses and he had to stoop because of those. When he removed them, though, he was handsome. Does this help you?

i'd say Kirara no Hoshi, but this manga is fairly recent. definitely not available in the 2008 time.

It is neither Kirara no Hoshi nor the Bird Girl manhwa.
But OMG gwkimmy THANK YOU for Kirara no Hoshi, I looked a bit into it and I LOVE THE PREMISE of this story!! Put it in my reading list :>.
