I guess Tite could take some time for a flashback. Maybe we will find out why the German guy has a sword instead of a bow. From what I remember from Uruyu, Quincies don't use swords. Does that mean that this new guy is another shinigami who left?

Anyway, I would say that we won't see much of this bankai, before it's stolen. Then Yamamoto will be killed (finally) and Ichigo will have to save the day again before losing his powers "for good" once again.

In any case, the fight is rather pointless, isn't it? SInce Soul Society and the shinigami are basically fancy repo men. If these quincy's want to change stuff they should go for the ones above Soul Society.
