Just like how others stated I don't like the way this series is going now, the first couple of chapters had alot more comedy and randomness then the recent chapters have now. This series shouldn't turn into a completely battle manga

OneManga tagged it under the "romance" genre' probably because the one-shot held the promise of a battle manga with plenty of romance and comedy mixed in but the actual weekly series seems like it intends to become a fully-fledged battle manga with no romance whatsoever as Zenkichi is being pushed more and more aside and his importance in the manga has decreased quite a bit

ha, it even said "student council, a natural breeding ground for romance." on the first page of the one shot

I dropped this after reading through chapter 22. Basically the second Uzen shows up the manga goes to hell. I'd still recommend reading up until that point though as it is very good for the first 14 chapters (uzen shows up at the end of 15 so that's my cutoff point).

I think I will drop this now, or at least move it to way down on my priorities list. Maybe just above setting my own house on fire.
This whole turn of events just doesn't fit with the tone of the oneshot and earlier chapters.
I think the tone should have been much more like what Mx0 did.
It was mostly comedy/school life, with a few archs consisting of battles or slightly more serious story archs. (exams, class battles and the whole school festival arch)
It think something like that would fit perfectly with this story and characters.
It could, theoretically, still correct itself, but the tone it set right now is far too serious to feel natural if it does.

As of chp 23, I'm putting this title on my on hold list until it is complete, which I'm sure with the way things are now, it will happen soon enough. 😮

I'm getting bored of them. I'm not gonna drop it though. I'll still read it every week. It's not like it takes me long to read a chapter anyway.

i thought i picked up a romance manga after i read the oneshot, but from the way things are happening now, it's just a battle manga. still i not putting this on hold just yet, i shall decide after one more arc, hopefully by then it will change back into the romance manga i was hoping to read

Well, you may get your wish for romance, but not in the way you'd expect. From what I've seen in a spoiler pic for chapter 25:

Medaka blushes when her bishounen brother touches her on the chin. I guess the reason Zenkichi has no chance is because Medaka has a brother complex. Funny how the author adds another bishonen to Medaka's harem like this is some shoujo manga. I have no idea what he's doing anymore

I still read the manga, but it's definitely the most disappointed I've ever felt about any kind of manga I've read. It started out ok, but then Zenkichi sort of vanished from the story and it became a Medaka fest. The story has some nice ideas, but it's poorly written, the characters are one dimensional (they're introduced and in a few chapters tossed to the side, only to be aired out once in a while to remind us they' exist), the plot is inconsistent, we have a main female protagonist that you can't relate to and a main male protagonist who has no purpose in the story. It just fails to click and I can see why it's ranking so poorly in WSJ.

Medaka actually being weaker than someone and blushing when the Class 13 guy holds her face. Zenkichi goes to attack him--and is held back unfortunately, but it's something

Also, anyone hoping that Medaka's brother has a thing for Zenkichi? I want a sibling rivalry to give Zenkichi more spotlight...

Ugh this really isn't gonna get much better is it?
At the very least if they didn't turn Zenkichi's awesomeness down it would be better than it is now. At the beginning he was supposed to be somewhat tough but we haven't seen him do anything substantial for a good 15-20 chapters or so.
This whole thing is becoming more redundant by the chapter.
I wonder how long it's gonna survive at this rate, I feel it won't be much longer. If only they kept with the original oneshot formula it might have done better. But I already mentioned that a bunch of times, so I'm not gonna mention that anymore in fear of sounding like a whiny little bitch.

This story is taking a turn for the worse, unfortunately. I was disappointed after reading the oneshot and then reading the first 10 chapters, but it's progressively gotten less interesting and more trite over the last 15 chapters.

Hopefully, it will develop some sort of cohesive plot with some depth, rather than a "ZOMG, TEH EVILZ CORPORASHIN IS PITTING GENIOUS/SUPERHEMAN VS> SUPER HEMAN TO FIND OUT WHO BE TEH STRONGEST" type manga.

Can't say my hopes are high, though.

Is it me, or does the title of the Manga seem to be losing touch with the plot? Like Medaka Box? Besides the King guy's request, have there really been any Suggestions in the suggestion box? I liked where I thought the original Oneshot was going to take the series, but now, not so much. I agree with most people here, and finally, as of Chapter 27, I think Zenkichi will be getting more screen (page?) time. And I kinda wanted the romance, but I guess not =/

I still plan on reading this, because, why not? It's not like its terrible at all. I like it, which could just be curiosity, but who knows.

I really do think the original plot has been completely lost, now it is just weird with stuff about the 'Flask Plan' and such. It utterly destroys the consistency that the other arcs (not sure what to call the previous chapters) had before.

Well on the bright side, I'm finally seeing a bit of romance between Medaka and Zenkichi. So I'm happy about that.
