The general idea for this poll came from our member drunkguy. In case you don't know what a cliffhanger is, it's basically ending a chapter/volume right where there's a huge conflict. It's meant to build suspense and make you want to read the next chapter/volume.

I don't particularly like cliffhanger, though they are exist for a reason(which is myself didn't really know). So i choose "a necessary evil".

It does, yet I would reckon that, for the sake of the argument, the manga is ongoing and there's a perceptible time delay (not less than two or three days IMO) between chapter releases. And, of course, you must've read up to the most recent chapter available.

I only like cliffhangers if they're done well but they usually aren't, so :/

I am suddenly reminded by the last few chapters of Umi no Misaki. They pretty much rendered me and a friend insane. XD

It's not that I hate cliffhangers, I just think that after one I always expect something worth the wait but usually I am disappointed... and if it happens more than once in a manga (disappointing after-cliffhanger chapter) I just start to lose interest...
I love those manga that can be interesting and u're looking forward to reading them even WITHOUT a cliffhanger.
