A Fire at Kyoto Animation Killed 33 People. Here's What to Know About the Deadly Arson Attack:

Thirty-three people have died and dozens have been left injured after a suspected arson attack in an animation studio in Kyoto, Japan.
A man reportedly shouted “You die!” before setting fire to Kyoto Animation studio on Thursday, local media reports.
The fire started in the three-story building after the suspect sprayed an unidentified liquid accelerant, Kyoto prefectural police and fire department officials said, according to the Associated Press.
With 33 dead, the fire is the worst mass killing in Japan since a man stabbed and killed 19 people at an assisted living facility in western Tokyo in 2016. In 2001, 44 people died in a fire in Tokyo’s busy entertainment district, but that it ruled accidental according to the New York Times.
Thirty six others were injured.
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the fire was “too appalling for words” in a post on Twitter, adding: “I would like to express my sympathies to the injured people and pray for a quick recovery.”

Here's the story of the killer:

Holy shit I'm literally shocked at the amount of autism.
I'll try to summarize: Train-obsessed photographer on 2ch's train board makes up the word "barisaku" for a specific way to get the lighting just right when photographing trains, and keeps spamming that phrase on 2ch so much that he ends up getting nicknamed Barisaku-Kun.

Then KyoAni makes an anime about people who play in an orchestra ("Sound! Eufonium" ) where they use the word "barisaku" as short for "bariton sakusofon" (bariton saxophone), and he thinks they stole his word that he was so proud of.
What really broke the camel's back was when KyoAni collaborated with the Kyoto public transport authorities to decorate a train with anime characters from Sound! Eufonium.
From then on he went to 2ch's/5ch's anime board every single day to shitpost about how KyoAni ruined his life.
But the threads suddenly stopped yesterday.
The arsonist was overheard by witness as shouting "They ripped me off!" over and over again.

BARISAKU

Damn! I read the news yesterday but never thought that with "plagiarism" he was referring to a word that he coined himself. This is just so freaking autistic. He killed 33 persons over something so stupid!

And, the saga continues: Fire halts trains in Tokyo

A fire at an electrical substation has halted some train services in Tokyo.
All trains on the Keio, Keio Inokashira, and Odakyu Tama lines have been stopped since around 5 a.m. on Friday.
The fire occurred at the facility in Tama city early in the morning. Fire fighters say underground cables and batteries are on fire and smoke is coming out of the substation.
The blaze has not been extinguished as of 6:30 a.m.

Could be unrelated, but who honestly knows.

Buddy, you don't know the leaps and bounds people will go to satisfy their autism. Taking a recent example, one guy who threw dynamite over the border into Mexico because he thought a rock looked like an ass. Then, of course, there's Florida Man.

My goodness, i heard the theory before but if its true it is beyond ridiculous. This guy must not have been in his right mind for quite a while. To think it ended like this..

Kyoto Animation security system was shut down on day of arson attack that killed 33

Previous witness reports say that as the arsonist was being taken into custody by police, he shouted ”pakuri”, a term used to describe copying/plagiarizing a creator’s artistic work. Further statements now say the arsonist also said “They stole my novel, so I set the fire.”
Like many animation studios, Kyoto Animation’s anime works are often based on light novels, Japan’s equivalent to young adult fiction, and the company periodically grants awards to novels it feels are of excellent quality and even publishes light novels light novels through its KA Esuma Bunko label. The arsonist’s words suggest that he feels a novel he wrote was unfairly used, or had its elements copied, by Kyoto Animation. While the arsonist’s name has not yet been released, investigators say he was not a former employee of the company.

But what's the truth then? The Barisaku-kun version or this one? Or is that Sound! Euphonium novel was his original idea and KyoAni copied it? A mix of everything?

CNN always twisting things and focusing on details only a paranoid would put their eyes on. Sigh.
I hope we get the real full version soon. I think checking Japanese anon's comments in platforms like 4chan would be closer to the actual event rather than reading a biased tweet.

KyoAni CEO: “We’ve Lost Everything, Both Paper & Digital”

Spiral stairs, no sprinklers may have contributed to deadly Japan fire

“The structure of the building was that it had one spiral staircase penetrating through three floors acting as a chimney, the most effective way of starting a fire,” said Momoko Higuchi, a Tokyo-based architect.
“Because the fire was with petrol, the effect was like a bomb. Most died of smoke.”
The building did not have sprinklers, nor indoor fire hydrants, but it did not have to have them under Japan’s fire code, a Kyoto Fire Department official said.
An inspection of the building in October had found no fire safety problems, he said.
Buildings usually fall into different categories depending on size, said Shinichi Sugawara, a professor emeritus at Tokyo University of Science.
While fire shutters are often required around structures like spiral staircases, to enclose then to prevent the spread of fire, Sugawara said he had heard that they were not needed in this case.
Some Japanese media has said that was because of the building’s relatively small floor space.

EDIT: Looks like it wasn't Barisaku-kun.

I did some more research and fucked around on (((twitter))), Shinji Aoba is not BariSaku. BariSaku's shitposting is so bad and hated by nips they just jumped at the chance to throw him under the bus. Barisaku is still updating his twitter, if he truly was Shinji Aoba he wouldn't be able to post his geo location details while riding on bullet trains. This is due to the third degree injuries the perp received. BariSaku effectively got SamHyded, but not out of love or admiration, just blatant ill intent because he's such a shitposting faggot schizo.
