I think many people have encountered Karens but don't realize it, because they think too much about the media/internet (racist) definition of a Karen. Karens are not just White women. They come in every race, color and ethnicity. Being a Karen is about an acute sense of entitlement and that's more closely linked to socioeconomic status than race. My sister works in customer service and she's met White, Black, Asian, Latina, and Middle Eastern Karens.

According to her, they all felt that an employee is basically beneath them and should do whatever they are told in order to cater to the Karen's whim or wish. What they all had in common was being middle or upper middle class. She told me that you can tell a Karen by their expensive handbag and sometimes cosmetic surgery. So, it's not the stereotypical "White suburban soccer mom with a hip, asymmetrical bob haircut" in every case. Think attitude, not necessarily skin color.
