recently, during my visit to asia, i've been thinkin it would be awesome if i could read all those rows of manga in japanese...there are so many....So, anyone ever thought of learning japanese? hehe. i'm gonna try and pick it up!

you know the best way to learn a language is to stay in a country that speaks it 24/7. that way you are forced to learn it...hahahaha. oh and jap isn't that hard to learn. it is a really basic language.. things like gammer makes sence and the sounds of the latters (for the most part) stay the same... unlike english.. english (from my point of view) is way harder to learn.
if you can't travel (because of high gas prices or airplane cost) go on the net.. they have everything.

I am starting to learn japanese but finding it abit difficult. it doesn't help that my memory is crap. i can understand bits and pieces in animes but not alot to watch without the subs. if i could go to japan that would be great but am broke and live other side of the world so too far

i live in USA....and i gots skool so i cant jus get in a plane and go to japan u kno...so if u kno a site, plz let me kno ight

I used to live in Tokyo for half a year and can understand simple spoken Japanese.... but can't read or write a word, except for mahjong characters (wait... that's chinese)

Learning spoken Japanese is pretty easy, actually.... it's the writing part that's tricky, especially those of us that rely on 'abc' instead of character's. It would be easier for someone who can read/write Chinese characters compared to someone who reads/writes in an alphabet based language like English/Italian/Spanish.

hahah. true true. another way to lrean is to isolate your self and to only hear that language like jap and of course study it while your studing. or the best way....... is................. go to school (if your school has jap). hahahaha.

I've always wanted to learn Japanese, but I'm so very lazy and it's pretty different from English. Maybe I'll really try one day. Anyway This Website seems to be a very good resource for learning it. I used it a little and it really did teach me the basics (though I forgot after I stopped practicing). Just thought I'd throw that out for anyone who seriously wants to learn Japanese.

oh you know what you should really do.... i did this.... go into a library, they should have a used book store. buy some there... they are like 2 dollars in the USA, i don't know about other places. i do know that in viet nam they have some for less then one dollar.. and it is new. hahaha

I've said to myself " I'm going to learn japanese " a lot of times already, and every time i grow tired because it's way different from spanish and english, and of course i could only learn some thanks to the internet..
Heh i wonder if there might be a " japanese for spanish dummies" out there..

I'm also learning japanese, but until now i can only write and read the katakana, but hiragana is somehow difficult for me. and in kanji i only know the singns of "nihon". the speaking part is easy, but it is always troublesome to learn new vocabulary, but there are many simmilar to english(ki= key, chizu=cheeze, naifu=knife).
so don't give it up, if you really want to learn it then just do it

im thinking of learning the best thing i was told to do was learn japanese at the current area where you live after that go to Japan and live there for a year or two and you will become fluent at japanese

My aim is to be able to read Japanese so i learn kanji. So far some basic kanji memorized. I'ts hard to read kanji without furigana (little hiragana on top of kanji) which have more than one pronounciation and meaning....

I've been learning for 1 year, and I still study Japanese at school I have it twice or sometimes three times a week, I'm so lucky to have a Japanese teacher because I can't wait to speak it fluently and read raw manga (: Well I have to speak it accuratley when the japanese exchange students come back to my school next year ^^
