No. NO. Just, no.
GAAHH. THAT IS SO EFFING FRUSTRATING.
Seriously, Mangastream only hosts /latest chapters/. Their quality is supreme. Their translations are much more accurate. This is a fcuking outrage. Heck, Mangastream is the only choice for quality DGM scans.
I buy a ton of manga from Viz. Seriously? Now I'm rethinking it.
I wish they'd at least continue on IRC...

Wow, the amount of bullshit in the this thread is embarrassing. I agree with Crenshinibon, when it bowls down to it, it's about business and money. Viz is just protecting their assets, nothing wrong with that. Learn Japanese and buy the magazines overseas or buy the Viz versions and deal with it. -sigh-

a salute to mangastream for holding their pride high..
any normal scanlators would still continue those series even after hearing jump got licensed..
the same shocked we received must have crashed to them too. those 7 of a series might as well their be called their core projects. all the more, they have no right to complain, while we can still bitching around about viz and start to read those series from other's scanlator group site.

Well, the same thing happened with Toriyama's World, and yet here we are ten years later. WIth the same series'. 😐
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

WTH?! So they decided to stop on my monthly manga soul food DGM and my weekly manga soul food KHR. This is a damn outrage. VIZ put hiatus on freakin KHR so what's the effin point, it's not like they're even going to continue to damn series again... At ;east they aren't stopping Gintama.

One less provider(willingly or otherwise) for paid online readers is one step further in the fight against them.
Never been that concerned with groups scanlating mainstream series like the Jump ones, we've already won when Viz licensed these series years ago and brought manga to NA. It's the smaller series that should be exposed to more people and broaden their collections (digital/physical).
Mangastream's come a long ways, speed is their primary asset, now, they can focus on raising quality for other series should they choose to continue in scanlating.

... now after all the rambling... Aside from naruto/one piece/craplish(bleack) what other series will be dropped by them? dont talk about HxH as i dont care about that one 😛 .
ED. forget I asked its at their site.
It's with a heavy heart that I make the following announcement. MangaStream will no longer be releasing the following series:
- Naruto
- Bleach
- One Piece
- Hunter x Hunter
- Katekyo Hitman Reborn
- Claymore
- D.Gray-man

Something is not right. I am sure Viz alraedy held the license to Naruto and Bleach manga for a few years now.

Well at least Fairy Tail isn't lost which is a minor but well felt concession to me.
Thank you for everything awesome you've done up to this point mangastream.

I actually find it hilarious that some of you are actually reacting negatively towards this.
You'll all get your precious shitty shounen manga on Wednesday, just that you'll get it from a different source and maybe a few hours later than you usually did.
Big fucking deal.

Seriously, this. It's not like there aren't 20 other groups scanlating those same series.

oh god i had to stop at superior translations... that shit made me lol so hard i couldnt stop...
you run a buisness, you see manga as for kids, do you...
A make a faithfull translation, even if that meas keeping nudity, bad language, and culture shock
or
B adapt it to america, make a britnney spears reference, have them eat a hotdog, and change SHIT (given the contest of the word, could mean shit or fuck, but went with shit) to darnit, my friend just got killed in front of my eyes but all the rightness in me allows me to only yell darnit.
You're the worst example of a rambling internet fool I have ever seen. Apparently your entire experience with official translation work is Pokemon and whatever gets shunted onto Cartoon Network's over-censored children's timeslot.
Scanlators aren't any better at accuracy. They're like a bad lawyer joke - stick 4 fan translators into a room, and you'll come out with 5 scripts. MangaStream was definitely one of the better groups, but it didn't take a genius to see when they guessed at what "sounded right".
I've watched as many anime series dubbed as I have subbed, and I've rewatched series with official subs, and anyone who tries to pretend that DVDs are censored or that anything is "Americanized" needs to stop watching the kiddy shows.
