The first anime shows I watched were Sailor Moon and Pokemon, and I think that was when I was seven or eight.
(I can't believe how annoying Sailor Moon's voice is, watching it now. 🤢 )
But when I turned ten my friend recommended me a 'comic' called Inuyasha, she let me borrow it for the weekend and oh God I was addicted.
After that I started to watch FMA, FLCL -- any anime that was on [adult swim] at the time.

pretty damn sure around 4 or 5 or something since my sister brought home a bunch...
i dont even remember anymore, it seems as if i was born into this stuff.
i remember when my sister brought home lain she said i wouldn't get it, and when she brought home fruits basket quite a whiles later
the cow with the black and white hair gets lectured by the class pres about his hair color being against the rules or something, and then they go into the bathroom because the cow says fine i'll show you then, and they come out and my sister starts laughing her ass off.
and i was sitting there 10 or 11 or something i dont remember, smiling going "what's so funny 😀 I wanna laugh too!"
now i look back on this memory and i think it's the funniest memory i have with anime.

Sailor Moon was my first 😳 Honestly, I still love it because of the memories.
And then later I went through the pokemon/digimon phase like crazy, and then things escalated from there... It didn't help that I fell in love with anime inspired video games, either.

Like everyone at my age, in the states atleast, I was exposed to Dragonball and Sailor Moon when I was about 9 or 10. Then when I was about 16 or 17 I figured out what anime was and I watched Spriggan, and Gundam Wing. Parts of it atleast. I was intrigued, so I watched Ghost in the Shell, and it was okay. Nothing mind-blowing, kind of boring actually. And that's when I stumbled onto Lain, and Cowboy Bebop. Then the rest of the good stuff followed.
As for manga, I can't remember if it was Ruroni Kenshin or FLCL first, when I was 18.
hmmm. i watched pokemon, yugioh, avatar, and inuyasha as a kid.
As far as I know there is only one avatar, and it ain't anime. Sorry to be picky, but not every awesome cartoon comes from japan. America's cartoons used to awesome too once. 😢
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

Yeah, DBZ and gundam around 9/10 and then I didn't really get in to any other anime or manga until around a year and a half ago, so 17 I would say. Since then, it has become an ever increasing hobby 😀

I think either Maya the Bee or Adventures of the Little Koala was my first anime. I watched it when I was about 6 or something back when it was on Nickelodeon. But it wasn't until about 5 years ago that I really got interested in anime/manga.
Fushigi Yuugi was my first manga, got it as a gift for my birthday 4 years ago.
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛
Manga I'm loving ATM: Heart no Kuni no Alice
wish I had discovered it earlier- all I can say is late teens..and anime only for a while- I think it was fatal fury- the first anime that I saw- was on AXN

Even though the first anime I saw was Robotech when I was 6-7 years old, but the anime craze got into me when I first saw Cardcaptors (yes, Cardcaptors, not Card Captor Sakura) on Cartoon Network at the age of 14. I've been severely addicted since then.
I got into manga only when I was 19. It's just one year for me reading manga. 🙂

I'm going to say 5 but it was probably earlier. Started out with Sailor Moon and the like. We would pretend to be the Sailor Scouts during recess in kindergarten haha. (I was Sailor Mars 😛 )
First manga. I have no clue. Probably Yu-Gi-Oh because my brother was into it and my dad got him a Shonen Jump magazine.
Scanlations I remember because I went digging around for Inuyasha. I found this site that only had the words and I went off of that for months. I learned about scanlations on the site and went looking around to find them. Yup.
