The story had gotten repetitive along the way, and I heard it's going to be ending soon due to low ratings. I doubt the story's even halfway through . . . there's just no point.

Akaboshi isn't ending soon, it's already done. Jump stopped running it a little over a month ago. It's been scanlated (I think) up until the 2nd to last chapter.

The ratings for the series were pretty bad. From what I remember, it was consistently in Jump's bottom 5 every week. I can't say I disagreed with the ratings either, since like you, that was also the last manga I dropped. (Although it took me until chapter 20 to do it. When the rest of the series is scanlated, I may go back and read the last few chapters just to say I finished it.)

SA, it was getting way toooo annoying seeing hikari and kei betaing around teh bush, but otherwise im sticking to the mangas im reading haha,

I can't remember the last manga I dropped. I usually drop manga because of ugly art or a drawn out story line.
