Misa is a very light form of Yandere, though.
And Reika's a moderate one...

I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Yandere! bigrazz

I love them so much that I know that Yandere girls would NEVER kill/blame their loved ones. Other people, yes. But the ones they love, no. So the ones who are afraid of that, should be able to calm themselves down. laugh

Now, Yangire, that's a different issue. They're just scary and psychotic, including towards the ones they love. ;-;

Educate yourself.

I love that pic smile

People mistake a Yandere from a Yangire or lower form of stalking.

Best example of this is Tsunetsuki Matoi from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei...she may be a stalker but not a Yandere like Kitsu Chiri.

I finally understand it! T^T

And with that...I prefer Yangire. Yandere characters are too much...ack! dead At least Yangire don't put up with crap, and that violent trait is just a plus. ^^

Edit~ Was this thread meant for guys or something? O_O

I agree with this comment. And I am sure really extreme Yanderes hardly exist anywhere in RL.

I am sure there's something to do with Asian cultures. Those who like Yanderes should go watch those cheesy Chinese/Korean soap operas/TV dramas, whatever. 99.99% of the time the male lead's arranged fiancee or someone who likes him and is not the female lead is a yandere. Sometimes there are more than one of such characters. They just create drama this way.

Those shows are like harem and most shoujo romance, in the sense that same formula and character types used millions of times but the audience never gets tired of. embarrassed

Please name 10 actual (female) Yandere.

(If you want to include the male side, then name 20!)

Quite an easy feat for something that
has been rehashed in abundance. ;o

I don't remember names. And I don't think I ever watched much of those dramas and they are worth being remembered.

Watch one episode and you will usually get what the drama and the characters are like.
embarrassed

If you mean in real life by "actual". No, I don't know any of such people.

No, I don't care about dramas. I don't watch them.

I meant, in manga medium. I love manga Yandere exclusively.
The expressions are what makes it all worth it, after all. laugh

(And why would I want actual real life names? ;- ; )

Ok, now I'm confused

Is Reika a mild Yandere or is she a Yangire? eek

Reika is no Yandere! My Yandere radar can attest to that. mad

She has Yandere-ish tendencies, and the potential to develop into a true Yandere. We'll just see how it goes. embarrassed

Quote from wikipedia
Definition of Yandere: Yandere is a Japanese term for a personality that is initially extremely loving and gentle, then at one point becomes deranged or psychotic, often brutally so,there is also the related noun yanderekko which refers to a girl with a yandere personality.
Typical characters of Yandere :Usually these girls are first presented as timid, shy and weak in varying degrees, which are more or less traits that stereotypically describe young Japanese girls.Additionally, these yandere girls have darker aspects of their personality that, as noted above, often goes beyond simply being cold and can turn very violent, even leading to the girl committing murder or suicide.

This personality trait can exist in real life.Although, they are minority, and you may haven't met them, but like schizos, they do exist, in any society, and as long as their mental problem is not detected, they won't be considered psychotic.
Scary...i will stay away from Yandere girls in real life unless their Yandere degree is low enough for them not to turn into a psycho someday. However, In manga, most of them are cute,i don't hate them. They may have an important role in the story.
Quote from wikipedia
Definition of Yangire : In order to keep the original definition intact, another term has arisen to describe girls who exhibit yandere traits but do not fit the true definition of what a yanderekko entails. This term, known as yangire, refers to characters who snap suddenly out of jealousy, irritation or something similar. This behavior is different from that of a yandere character in regard to the motivation that sparked the change in the character. The yanderekko is motivated through her love for the male protagonist, while a yangire character is motivated through other characters and will not be connected with emotions of love or attraction. Like yandere, the related noun yangirekko can be used to describe a female character with a yangire personality trait.

none they maybe even scarier, but i won't hate them more than Yandere girls.

i like yanderes they're pretty entertaining.....but here's a question, for any who's seen the Kara no Kyoukai animes, does Ryougi Shiki qualify as a Yandere? or not sense she was missing a few screws to begin with?

but uhh, i haven't come across many yandere's in my manga, i need to find some

You must be only seeing their sweet side meant to lure you in...xD I had the misfortune of knowing a girl like this...not fun, and I wasn't even on the receiving end, poor guy. He told me later that they sent her to an institution.

Oh, this post just made me remember a Yandere issue I almost completely forgot about...It made headline news at our University.

Well to simplify, Girl A had best friend and boyfriend, we'll call best friend Girl B and boyfriend as just Boy.

Girl B had a crush on Boy and he knew about it while Girl A was oblivious to it (I think). They probably fooled around like Makoto did in School Days. Girl B wanted a serious relationship and got rejected. Next day, she comes to school and calls out Girl A during her class. Cat Fight outside, then Girl B suddenly pulls out a knife and stabs Girl A. WTF!? Yup, it happens, bag inspection was lax if you were a student and she apparently hid it on her bra. And the most shocking thing for people who weren't involved or didn't see it first hand, was that the guy wasn't anything special to fight over. Lol.

For a month long lines were on the front gate cause inspection became tight.

I think I've posted this story on the forums before but i just can't remember where.

But anyway, why are we even talking about if it exists or not, This is in Manga General >.>
