I used to be a pretty big gamer. I don't really play console games much anymore and I doubt I'll buy any of the new ones, certainly not a 600 dollar one, but for some odd reason I still follow gaming news. 😕

Anyway, of the new systems, I would say the Wii simply because it's the most innovative. I kind of respect Nintendo for always being the one willing to take risks in order to be innovative and keep the industry from becoming stagnant. They went in a pretty radical direction and chose to offer a new way to play instead of the same old games with better graphics. Plus Nintendo's first party games are just plain fun. This is the more social and casual gamer's choice I think.

The X-box 360, aside from having a ridiculous name, is the same as the X-box only the games look much prettier. It basically blows the Wii out of the water graphically though and it's got some cool games from what I can see, but nothing all that new and basically the same type of stuff the PS3 has. The PS3 is technically more powerful, but realistically I don't see a huge difference in anything. X-box also has the Halo franchise and that's a pretty big deal in gameland.

I have issues with Sony and the whole PS3 debacle. For one thing the way they handled the launch was sickening. A retarded monkey could have planned that out better. Also, the price, not even so much the fact that it is so expensive, but why it is. It didn't have to be that expensive. The price is so damned high because Sony is using the Playstation's popularity to try to force feed their Blu-Ray technology to people in hopes of beating HD-DVD as the replacement for DVDs. It was bleeding edge technology and it jacked the price up significantly. Screw that, I wanted a new game machine not a Blu-Ray player. If I wanted one of those I'd buy one. They could have used existing media technology and drastically cut the costs of producing the machines without affecting the quality of games at all. But they didn't and it's blowing up in their face. The only saving grace is Final Fantasy, of which I am a huge fan, but even so it's not enough.

For handhelds, which I don't care for much in general, I actually like the PSP, but I like the DS better.

Meh, I'm sticking with PC gaming, I wonder how that would fare in the polls against consoles.

PS2. It has more RPGs than any other console. I would like to have the PS3 but it seems that is a little out of my reach (too expensive :cry 🙂 .Well.... thats it !! 😛

I vote for PS3, I'd love to play new rpg like White Knight.

I own a ps3. My housemate owns a xbox360, and my brother owns a wii. I've played all three, i've played famous titles from all three, and i have to say...

Wii got very boring very fast. The novelty of the controller fades and you end up with childish games that are fun but become boring very quickly.

Xbox360 is nice, very similar to ps3, but my god the load time on games between maps or areas is long. And the games get VERY laggy. Turns out you need to manually reset the ram? I don't know about you, but for me, a game should never "get" laggy later just because you played fable 2 and now want to play oblivion.

Ps3 is great. Only complaint i have is i need better rpg titles, but those will be coming very soon. I've also been playing a lot of AC4A but my god the game gets hard later.

I also own a DS, and with a flash card, it is great getting free games, but they get soooo boring. There are like 100 bad games for every 1 good game, and that 1 good game does not last long enough until the 100 bad games are released and the next good game comes out.

i really like my super nintendo. go 2d action!

but yeah, i choose wii. it's quite interesting

Of the current generation systems I have a PS3, a Wii, a DS and a PSP. I'll say I've enjoyed playing games on all of them. I'll say I've probably had the most fun with my Wii though, as I've only played two PS3 games so far, and one of them really felt more like a PS2 game.

So far no system has me like the PS2 and GBA did last time around.

Hmm, I think the PSX will always have a place in my heart, mostly for nostalgic reasons.
But out of the poll's list, I choose the PSP. I bought it on it's launch day, and to this day still play it. I got it hacked, so I can play PSX/GBA and other games on it all the time.
Its also handy for reading manga, since its closer to holding a real volume than reading on PC...

I like being a PC gamer but for consoles i own and love the Xbox 360 and PSP.(i own more but these are my favorites) 😀 😛

I have a PS3, PSP, and my younger brother has a Wii and DS... I got really bored of the Wii after a while but did enjoy some games (RE4 Wii edition!). I don't really have a hate for Microsoft; it just didn't have games that I wanted at launch --- I would like to play Vesperia but I care not for Halo or Gears of War (Valkyria can bide my Vesperia envy and MGS can do the same for shooting - I like 3rd person shooters more than FPS).
A lot of the games I really enjoy are multiplatform so it doesn't make a great difference between the 360 and PS3 for me. The exclusives aren't that great a factor for me but I have to admit, LBP is really fun with the right mixture of friends and sabotage. Oh, I actually like the Blu-ray player it's nice, albeit a little unnecessary.

I like the wii, althought in my preference Playstation 2 is awesomer. They produced a lot of good games for it...even though I never had one.

For now, the Xbox 360. Because of the games, xbox live, and the new dashboard.

Everyone says that the PS3 has better graphics and all that.. but seriously, no one can really see the big difference between the two. Not saying that the 360 is the better choice for everyone, but PS3 really needs to start getting out the releases like FF 13 and FFVS 13.

And when ppl say the ps3 has better games than the 360, i beg to differ. Anyone heard of the ratio of Ps3 to 360 in japan? i heart it was 20:1 or something, but in September 2008, the 360 passed the PS3 in sales. Amazing isnt it? Probably because of the exclusive JRPGs for the 360 out in that time period.

No offence to those Nintendo fans out there, but i dont think of the Wii as a game console, more like a toy.
