Light Novel vs Web Novel

I've only recently started looking up novels for manga I'm particularly enjoying. I've found that some have both a Light Novel and Web Novel version. I understand the answer is probably case-by-case, but I figured I'd ask people with more experience if there is one version I should generally read over the other or if one version is generally better than the other.

Some light novels may simply end up being a compilation of the web novel chapters word for word so yeah as you said it'll differ.

Go for the light novel version translation-wise. Translators of web novels I find are often machine assisted. For those completely dependent on it, chapters may be published without consideration for grammar, accuracy, or flow so personally translators of light novels appear better.
