I love bromance, it fills me with such a joy to view/experience a bond of ultimate friendship with another. I even wrote on the Berlin Wall "bromance over romance". Yup.
In manga, bromance makes me happier than romance. Romance can be done well or done reeeally bad, but bromance just about is always done well.
Now it's your turn to choose.
Edit: Girls may be involved in bromances as well, fyi. ;D

Yep. Bromance is better. Especially when it's two guys, and one of them has a love interest, but his bromance buddy is more important to him than his love interest. That's the best.

I love bromance as well! It makes me so much happier to see guys together developing such an awesome bond that can defy anything rather than people angsting over love and sex and jealousy. I love seeing guys put complete trust in one another and be able to rely on each other for anything... Bromance is soooooo much better than Romance. My favorite series is Hunter x Hunter specifically because the bromance between Killua and Gon is so amazing (and because Killua's like the awesomest character ever).
It annoys me when people turn great bromance friendships into yaoi or shounen ai... the friendship is so pure and wonderful and yet they want to look for some sort of sexual undertone or ulterior motive? :/ Geeze people.

It's kind of hard not to. Our nature doesn't allow us to think "normally" sometimes. We know they're friends, good friends, more like brothers but we just like having fun. We do love the friendship but when people make the chicks in the show intolerable well...we go there. Called "slash" unless the writers plan to make it canon.
Bromance~ It's just done better than romance. Wait wouldn't it be like Sistermance(or something like that) not Bromance for two girls?

Sisterhood is more subtle and charming,
while bromance is persevering and limitless.
Just think of a classy sister and epic brother. ;D

Ah I see
Hard to choose, but I went for bromance.
An unbreakable monolith of loyalty and trust
is far better than some chemically induced
state of complete illogicality. Bromance is about
accepting the person as the person is, no strings attached,
an alliance that only time can forge.
That is, at least, what I'd prefer over any woman.
A person I can trust as a human.

I know you probably didn't mean it this way but something sounded kinda sexist. Like, can girls only have subtle and sweet classy relationships with each other but guys have OMG EVERLASTING I LUV U MAN U MY BFF 4 LIFES BRO relationships?
I have a lot of "bromance" relationships with my friends then.
Anyways, friendship is awesome so I guess bromance wins.
Totally going for bromance. :3
I've not been in a relationship, but it's nice being around friends who you can tell anything to.

If you knew that it probably was not meant, it probably would've not needed to be commented on.
I have a handful of friends, I am of that age already where only those that really matter remain,
the rest only live in memories. Only 2 I can trust to such extent that it could be called
bromance, excluding my little brother, but the culture around here is just the way that it doesn't really show outside.
Those two I've befriended by myself, just me alone, without sharing any common buddies
or such. The kind of friendship not formed with just by hanging out in the same circles,
that I know, is just about them and me.
All kinds of events only imaginable in shoujo mangas have happened to us, although we are adult men, have afflicted us, but we remain. Knowing that I need them and they need me is enough.

It can still be taken in a sexist way though. It's like saying girls are incapable of deeper level relationships which we all know is not true (at least I hope...). Might want to clarify what they meant in the post.
EDIT: There are also good things to romance too though. In plenty of situations people are best friends and also in a romantic relationship (I know this bromance thing deals with same sex friends, but think of samesex couples, they can be friends and lovers). Also in a lot of cases (not all) the person you marry is someone you cherish over all other people, your friends, you could say they are your best friend. Though, this isn't often the case in casual dating or romance.

What's wrong with yaoi and shounen-ai (and yuri and shoujo-ai when it is about two girls)? From your words it seems that they are "dirty" as long as you mentioned them as a contrast of the "pure" friendship. What is annoying imo is how any time any thread could be used for some genres bashing. Let ppl read what they like, what is the porblem?

I liked your words. I have ever wondered why despite of being the more rude and cruel gender the men could create deeper and stronger friendships and devotion to people/doctrines. This is like an weak spot in us the females. That is why in the friendship point of view I'd prefer a man for my best friends, not an woman.

Sadly, it is true.:/ In the real life the lover is not seen as a friend too, no matter of the sex of the partners. As if the human mind cannot look at someone as at friend as long as he/she shares the same bed. I think that accepting the parntner as a friend too could only strengthen a couple.

I disagree. I think we all know that girls can, and often do, have very tight bonds. Saying the word "sisterhood" is subtle and charming is not sexist. It's just a word.
Anyway, when they're younger (like, teenagers), I would even go so far as to say that girls tend to have more lasting bonds than guys (again, in general), but they have them with very specific people while guys tend to have a bunch of people they like and can hang out with. That's why I think a bromance is such a novel idea to so many people; we like to think of guys connecting and bonding on an emotional level that I feel a lot of people tend to associate only, or mostly, with girls.

Agreed. As much as I'm not fond of 13-year-old rabid yaoi fangirls who go haywire at the sight of male-to-male contact, I am equally not fond of genre-bashing. What's a few fantasies got on you? Leave the genre be.
And to answer the topic, I admit that I'm more of a romance fan. In the end, both really just depend on character development and how the plot unfolds.
