This is the best manga I've read and compares well with my favorite books. I'm kind of sad that not more people know about it. I mean, it's on 2.5k lists while naruto and bleach are on around 12k, and I'm certain that most people would agree that historie provides a richer and more in-depth experience.
Your thoughts?

I've updated the manga description and picture in hopes of attracting more readers biggrin

yes,i think so too
this manga is one of the few rare one that can grab the reader in
I can read this manga over and over again while manga like naruto&One Piece, i read it like just read in passing

Historie is in another level. it's historical not with lots of action like the top 10
but I can't get enough of it for some reason.

I absolutely agree with you guys biggrin This is a masterpiece and a 'subtle' one at that.

The problem with this, though, is that this manga isn't for ppl that just like to glance rapidly at mangas. For example, I'm trying to get my 20 y.o. cousin to read this (HUGE manga/anime fan) & he had to ask me about the parts where Eumenes' father said to him, "You didn't cry that time, either" (paraphrasing here). Even when he read the later chapters that explained that scene/moment, he STILL couldn't connect the dots. & he kept asking, "Did he like Saturna? He never SAID it, etc."

I think it's a bit too "mature" or thought-provoking for some. It ain't a spoon-reading type of manga. Because, yeah, sometimes I rapidly read manga but hardly ever take the time to digest & let things sink in. Historie is one of those mangas where you have to just let it digest slowly for the impact to be felt.

& WOW! The way the mangaka handled Hephaestion, the angle he took with hit... it's just HOLY --ISH. I haven't come across anyone handling Alexander's BFF/lover quite like this. It's definitely unique so I'm really excited how this will play out.

Incidentally, the Diadochi (the "era" post-Alexander's death) is my absolute fave of Alexander's life story. The historical Eumenes is one of those that is considered to be one of the lucky few. He lived quite a number of years compared to the other "great(er) generals." & yes, my most fave general ever is Craterus & historical!-Eumenes beat him. So I'm not too fond of this dude. But this manga is making me like him biggrin Read up on the Diadochi Wars and the power struggles of each general. IMO it's much more interesting than Alexander's bio.

was juts glancing at Historie's threads not expecting to find anything and caught your post. Wow, it's hard for me to believe that your cousin didn't pick up on the Saturna part. I just know briefly about alexander's conquests and next to nothing about his generals--i don't think wikipedia's article on Eumenes really counts. yeah, it's more in-depth than your average manga, and i think it reads like a book.

I wonder what it is the mangaka does that makes the releases take so long. . .

Wufu, you're right! I haven't noticed that it's been a while since he released something fr. this manga. Heck, I'm not even sure if he releases every month or bi-monthly or I don't know.

I know; I'm getting impatient for a new chapter. & I can honestly say this is a first for me; with other mangas I wasn't as invested as with this one or I just drop the manga lol (ahem --> D.Gray-man).

Actually, the cover image is one of the things keeping me from reading this manga.

Good lorde... in the latest chpt., (89) you can just FEEL the foreshadowing of the (a?) showdown bet. General Craterus and Alexander biggrin I get this feeling that Iwaaki just might follow historical content.
I also get this feeling that Iwaaki is not fond of Alexander LOL. He's clearly no "Alexander Apologist" smile

Glad to see it's picking up and... I'm iffy on this becoming popular. I just love it so and want it all to myself haha. But if it gives Iwaaki-san more notoriety (and $$$), then hell yeah! We should share it.
