I remember when I first read manga that I really liked it. It was a new and something really innovative, but now, it seems like I've forgotten why it's so awesome anymore.

Anyone care to explain to me the awesomeness of manga?

I know how you feel. Right now it's like most manga are the same stories, just that some people have different powers.

But you have to remember that there are manga out there that actually break away from the cliches that overpower most mainstream manga and actually come of as good stories that make you want to find some way to collect the entire story.

What I'm saying is that if you're getting tired of all the manga that deal with the same problems over and over cough shounen and shojo stories cough, just go search for a manga that's awesome and hasn't been overhyped by fanboys and fangirls.

You probably started to like manga because you could read the rest of an anime that you enjoyed for free on the internet.

You would currently be in what I call a 'this-actually-kinda-sucks realization slump', which comes with reading lots of 'popular' or immature stories. It's what causes people to eventually leave comic books, as well. Once the novelty of reading your anime wears off, you have to think of manga just like any other form of entertainment. Figure out what kind of television show (or manga, in this case) you enjoy, then watch it, and find other shows that are similar or have the same writers, or the same actors or the same producers or what have you. You'll find that you're reading more specific genres and less total manga than before, but enjoying it more because you've decided exactly what it is that you want.

If you're hungry for a new experience, dry a genre that you'd never expect that you may enjoy. Look into the long-running shoujo stories, or horror/survival, or seinen romance. The benefit of manga is that it scales along with your taste to always provide you something that you can relate to and enjoy.
