I was updating the info on one series and I wanted to add a category tag.

It was then that I noticed there was an "Adultery" tag, an "Affair/s" tag, an "Cheating/Infidelity" tag, and a stand-alone "Cheating" tag, a stand-alone "Infidelity" tag along with some more specific ones like "Cheating Boyfriend," "Cheating Girlfriend," "Cheating Wife," and "Cheating Husband," "Cheating Male Lead," "Cheating Female Lead," "Cheating Fiancé," "Cheating Fiancée," "Cheating Uke," "Cheating Seme."

Is it possible to group these under one parent tag (like everything under "Cheating/Infidelity" - I think their standalone tags could just be merged now, tbh, I don't see the difference), while maintaining the ability to search them individually? I understand the need for nuance in a lot of these tags, but some tags do overlap heavily.

There are a surprising amount of essentially duplicate tags on this website. While I'm with you on the understanding of the more nuanced stuff for tracking down old stories one remembers, tags like "cheating" and "infidelity" really should he merged into "cheating/infidelity".

That would be a developer thing, however, since you'd need to write a small function that merges those columns in the table, as well as test to see if just removing the columns won't cause a weird ghost tag issue. Creating or using another tag from the point of a user would require someone to constantly update that tag with everything that goes into the others.

It's best left to a site developer.
