Happy Easter!

Here's a quick fact about Easter 2011. Eastern and Western Christianity usually celebrate Easter on different days because they follow different calendars. However, for two years in a row (2010-2011), Easter has been celebrated on the same day by both East and West. This super rare. In fact, it's so rare that some people attribute it to the theory that the world will end soon (like the 2012 thing with the Mayan calendar).
At least that's what my professor told me on Friday right when class ended.

You do know that 2012 thing is just the end of the Mayan calendar cycle, right? It's kind of like saying the world would have ended in 1999 because 2000 began a new millennium.
If that was a joke then by all means ignore me 😛

...He is aware of this... hence the "some people".
Of course, for some people, the world will end in 2012.
'Cause they'd be dead.

You'd think after all the false alarms on "the world is going to end in year XXXX!" people would stop falling for it.
"It is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science."
The "some people" part does not refer to the 2012 end of the world theory, it refers to people attributing the coincidence to some higher meaning.
You underestimate human stupidity.
