Reading manga/comics on an ereader: yay or nay?

I've been reading manga for most of my life now through a variety of means: Laptop computer, smartphone, tablet, and of course physical editions too, but I've never tried it on a ereader before and I was wondering if anyone's got experience with that sort of thing?
When I look online a lot of what people say about ereaders is about text, not black-and-white comics like manga, or colour comics like in many manhwa and manhua. I don't think the long strip format would work very well on an ereader, but I could be wrong about that!
As a student I've heard good things about the Rakuten Kobo Libra Color for taking notes, and so that specific ereader has stood out to me, but I don't know how much I trust the reviews I've seen by technology websites. I'd much rather hear from the community here on MU instead since we all have a love for comics and reading comics would be my main usage for it outside of note-taking on it. I do read novels occasionally, and would hope the ereader be good at that too, but I read them far less than I read comics so it's less of a priority for me.
I'm not bothered by an ereader lacking the online stores for buying manga, I have my manga {but not manhwa or manhua...} downloaded in EPUB format already, so as long as it has a way for me to upload my own files and read my own files then I'll be fine with the product.
People who have experience with reading comics on an ereader, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Do you enjoy the experience? Is it a matter of the specific model or brand or ereader or is it all ereaders that are good/bad for comics? Anything in particular that stands out to you as a good or bad trait for comic reading on ereaders?
